I was fishing with my XH St Croix and Shimano Tranx 300 Throwing big rip bait for striper at pyramid lake California. Cold morning and could not fish without my gloves, Made the first cast and boom, here no drag at all. Like it doesn't meant to be anything such drag in fishing reel, Makestory short I changed my set up and back home, try it and it has drag like mother. I hear the same thing about a YouTube had the same issue with tranx 300. Anyone around know what is the problem with tranx reels? is it because of cold weather? or a bad batch?

Guys I do shore fishing, you know how I fish riprap? mojo rig live night crawler with very small weight and almost you get 1 bass with each cast(using spinning set up). I learn that from old guy after loosing zillion lure 0n that place haha....

usually when I have lake that have mud and nothing else at the bottom, I am using 1oz football because I can cast it a mile and also ill not risking loosing it. also I am agree for the rate of fall, sometimes you need that fast fall to get the reaction.

If you use spinning set up you'll not have those head aches, but sims lie you are like me and hate to use spinning, So I recommend you double fluke rig, with your 3/0 hook and use long leader 6lb Flouro with braid backing. . the advantage of this rig is making the weight double and less problem casting with bait caster.

I tried same thing and change everything to mono for few reasons, but honestly it dad bad impact to my performance, when I again back to braid with leader, again I start catching like before, so I highly recommend not to do it.

Yes he is right, Better to go with FC100, Since it is spinning set up, I assume you want to be finesse as much as possible, so FC100 is the best of both world, stretch and give like mono and clear like Flouro.

Thats what happened in my business, I purchase couple 26' Internationaltrucks and this year they didn't register them and I need to pay $1000 plus for this year(even I cant use them), and I need to pay to destroy them. They will not give you any other option, only option to sell them in another states, Anyways I am not into dealing trucks. So long story short, I lost a lots of money just by a simple law and that law wasn't something that we know two years ago when paid for the trucks, They just announced it before new year. So I don't want same thing happen to me in boat as well.

when I think of pros and cons, I am deciding to don't have power pols. 1- extra money. 2-in RT178 you can have only one power pole and anything not symmetrical is not really my thing . 3- weight of power pole.
