  1. I've thrown Nichols for several years and love them for the reasons you've stated: compact and durable. They also have great colors and blade colors.
  2. I really like the vmc hooks..they are about as nice as it gets for the money. But I hate that offset bend and also straighten them out.
  3. X3...bet in the past 5 years I've ordered at least 30-40 times. Never had an issue.
  4. Yeah..its kinda gross
  5. 98 here right now with a serious southwind heat index is 102...

Bummer dude. My girlfriend had an MRI on her right knee a few weeks back...just found out she has to have surgery next month to repair her meniscus and ACL.
  7. I'm working this weekend and Sunday the heat index is gonna be around 105. Pretty d**n hot for northwest Iowa in june.
  8. I find his music to be very unique and interesting... I've been a fan since I first heard him probably 15ish years ago. The songwriting is dark and sardonic...the music is kind of like a rusty old jalopy going down the road...jangly and unkempt but it holds together. The all together experience paints a picture in my mind like I'm in a dark, drab old bar filled with smoke and cheap whiskey fumes. Toms the drunk piano player...a rundown hopeless romantic. Anybody else like his vibe?
  9. Pretty sure that's the only presentation you employ for bass. Well besides your super productive spinner baits .
  10. I'm 39 so retirement is a dot on the horizon unless I win the Powerball ...which is impossible since I don't buy tickets. That said I've got a pretty good work schedule...7-330 5 days a week...usually sneak a little over time in so about 42hrs a week. Also its just me,my lady and the cats...no kids running around. So I have alot of free time which I occupy with working out and fishing. I probably average 3 trips a week 2.5-4 hours each. Some weeks ill fish 5 days. I'm very happy.

  12. Like said above nicer more expensive reels are usually lighter, smoother and last longer. That said I'm sure you've heard the expression it ain't the arrow its the indian? Case in point I've been fishing alot of budget gear this season...revros, black max, lightning rods etc. My buddy Brian just got into bass fishing last summer...he often times is fishing nicer gear than me. He's out fished me once this year in probably 15-20 trips.
  13. Hate to tell ya bud but I think you just told everybody
  14. Started out this morning snapping off a buzz bait on the hookset on a good one...must have had a kink from a backlash. I was able to drag a jig snag my line and get the buzzer back at least. Next spot I lost a dink on the buzzbait. Third spot I hooked a solid fish next to a dock on a Ned rig that got spit right back at me. I bounced around a bit and caught a couple decent ones and ended up back at my starting spot. First cast I had a 3 suck in my buzzbait, one jump and its flying back at me. A few casts later I was hopping my Ned across a rock bar and 4+ snatched it. Fought her all the way up to the jetty, she dove and cut my line on a piece of rebar. Sometimes your the windshield other times your the bug. I got my a#$ kicked today.
  15. Been tough here for numbers the past week or 2 but size has been good. I got a 3 and a 5 on back to back casts one trip two weeks ago. Since then I've caught 3 3s a 3.5 and a 6. I caught one close to 3 last Monday on a crappie jig under a slip bobber.

  17. Been absolutely dreadful here for a few weeks...should be ending soon
  18. I haven't had much luck on a Ned yet this year..I bet last year I caught 150 bass on one. I've has alot more success with a fluke this year than in years past. Everything else has been typical for me...senko, swim jig and popper. Haven't had great luck on a spinner bait or buzz bait yet...but the open water season is young my friend.
  19. What's the idea behind the short rods?
  20. Whose using this for bait longevity? What size for 5in stickbaits...senko, dinger etc?
  21. Looking to really start throwing some sliders and other comparable heads. For those that throw them with some regularity what rod do you use? Line as well?
