Following in footsteps/history repeating itself
Sorry to hear about your dad. Understandably when people we love pass away its hard not to start to wonder about our own mortality. Hopefully you can break the cycle and outlast your 28 year prediction.

Musicals...
Whoa...that's a little sharp. Fantastic movie but still...ouch.

Musicals...
So maybe its just because I'm an unsophisticated slob but I don't get the appeal. I love music and I love movies..but together they don't get it done for me. Perhaps I'm missing something.

The Best Advice
This is the best one so far...and it doesn't just apply to fishing its pretty universal on how to get better at anything. My buddy Brian always asks: why are you always catching more bass than me? This is the answer. I've seen way more scenarios, have better problem solving skills because of it and alot more tools in the tool box.

What is your "old school" lure of choice?
Bladed jigs got big and spinnerbaits got put away in the closet for many anglers. I throw bladed jigs but never stopped throwing the spinners.

What is your "old school" lure of choice?
I've always fished spinnerbaits ..never went out if favor for me. Old school? Texas rigged mister twister phenom worm motor oil color. Bone Rebel Pop R.

When Pros Write books, it seems they make info fit how they fish;)
What if the man sits behind the desk as a biologist and spends all of his off time chasing bass? I'm not downplaying Roland Martin as an incredible angler but i believe people sometimes put to much emphasis on somebody being a pro. I'm not sure what @WRB did for a living but I don't recall him saying he was a pro fisherman...yet I'd trust his advice over almost anyones on how to catch a 10lb+ bass since he's caught like a billion of them. Point being pros aren't the only ones who understand and catch bass.

Fishing Lures as tools
Yeah right dude...all you throw anymore is a spinner bait and a Texas rigged dinger!
-
Fishing Lures as tools
Spinnerbait, Buzzbait, popper and a few different types of Texas rigged worms are my absolute bare minimum. Maybe a Ned rig as well..I catch alot of fish on that thing.

Bass Attractance
I want to try the new bait fuel mainly because I'm intrigued by its lack of scent to humans. Over the years I've tried several...baitmate, bang, berkley...only one I've decent results with is JJs magic but that could be the color as much as the scent. I haven't used any for a few years mainly because they are messy and I haven't noticed that much of a difference honestly.

ugh. I'm in an 8-hour ZOOM meeting today.
If my company scheduled 8hr meetings I'd work somewhere else. If it takes that long to get the point across maybe the management team should look up the definitions of the words priority and importance.

Strike verses catch ratio
Depends...sometimes I suck sometimes I dont. Went 2 for 2 today yesterday went 6 for 8. Put me at %80 for the weekend with a variety of baits. 1 busted me off in a tree pile on spinning gear which happens...the other hooked up on a popper and came off after like 2 cranks of the reel...guessing he swiped it and barely had it on the outside of the face. Last months I went on a streak of losing fish...just goes that way sometimes.

What are some good floating alternatives to Z-Man’s 2.75” TRD?
You super glue it to the head and it slides down? I don't even know how that's possible. I glue my trds and have no issue.

Hotels. Hate them!!!!
Fair point...but nobody said a hotel is as bad as it gets.

Hotels. Hate them!!!!
I don't do much traveling but hotels are always a letdown. I can never sleep in one no matter how nice because the layout and overly sterile appearance remind me of a hospital. About the only place I stay anymore is in a big cabin at one of our county parks...that's as close to being home as it gets. I always sleep fine there.

What have you found to be the best Ned rig weight in creeks/rivers and why?
I fish mostly lakes and ponds so don't contend with current but I've found my best success on the lightest head possible in the brands I like..normally 1\16oz. I personally feel like not having bottom feedback is a benefit...but then again I'm not working this on bottom much usually I'm swimming it or hopping it up off bottom.

Top Water Colors : Silver / Black vs. Silver / Blue ?
I use 2 colors of popper primarily: bone and some kind of chrome. I don't care if the back is black blue green magenta or whatever...if the belly is whitish or chrome I'm good. P.S. sometimes a black popper can be magic.

4th Of July Weekend Has Begun!

Lost a customer today
What an awful deal...always hard to hear. My best buddy's wife lost her best friend that way a few years back. Had two little kids and was going thru some struggles and I believe living with her dad at the time to get back on her feet. Her dad found her hanging in the barn one day...leaving behind a heartbroken parent and two devastated little kids.

Chatter bait rod
First off I'm no bladed jig expert but I've caught plenty of fish on them over the years so here is my take: I've used both a MH fast and a MH mod fast. Only thing I've noticed is with the mod fast I lose less fish when they jump if they are lip hooked. If they choke the bait and are hooked in the roof of the mouth or throat it doesn't really matter.

Ark rod review
I've got a Tharp series, a Cobb series and 2 lancer pros...been very impressed with all of them...especially for the price.
