  1. Good pics and good fish, what more could you ask for? Looks like you guys need some rain too judging by the water level on that pond? 8-)
  2. I have been using Yum chunks until recently. GYCB Flappin' Hogs is what I have been using this past two weeks. The fish absolutely refuse to let go of the jigs when I'm using one of these as a trailer. I have to make a public Thank You to Natural for this idea. Believe me, it works!!!
  3. I always keep mine in their original package and inside of a binder bag. I also store them in a temperature controlled environment and I think that helps alot. The main thing is to keep the bags sealed tightly and out of the sun and heat. I guess some of my plastics are going on ten years or better now. I would think adding your favorite scent to them would slick them up a bit but it may be a little messy.
  4. Thanks for posting. I liked the stuff on the SR-71 Blackbird. That thing still looks ahead of it's time.
  5. Good vid. That's the way I like to see them, people having fun and enjoying themselves. I can't get over how clear your water is. After that bass came unbuttoned, you could still see it swimming off for a long time. I guess that's what they refer to as gin clear huh?
  6. Funny as hell. When he said he was drunk, he knew the gig was up. ;D

Welcome Aboard!!! Best site on the web.

I have been wanting to get one of these but I would kind of feel silly since my boat only gets up to about 45 mph. Hard rain still hurts at 45 mph though. ;D Maybe I'll break down and buy one.
  9. Excellent choices!! You're gonna be suprised how far they cast. I can almost empty the spool on my Alphas with a 1/2 oz. trap.
  10. Alright!! Nice fish!!
  11. Good cause. I bet his butt will be sore if he has a lean back seat like mine. I have done quite a few 17-18 hour trips on the boat but 24 hours would be difficult.
  12. I saw the title of the thread and was ready to sit back for a good read. Instead, I sit at my computer and laugh my azz off!! You got me on that one. Clever, most people wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks for the good laugh!!
  13. ATTA BOY!!! That's the way to do it. FULL THROTTLE!!! ;D
  14. Crawfish... you can T-rig them, put them on a shaky head jig, use em' for a jig trailer. Pretty much anything you can imagine. I am a big fan of Gary Yamamoto Senko's but from what I have seen on the boards, you can't go wrong with Brent at ***. He sells Trick Sticks that are just like the Senko, some say even better and his prices can't be beat!! I may soon have to give these a try. 8-)
  15. I use Helium LTX II's for my jigging rods. I think my line snapping issue will be resolved soon. The line I'm using (20# test/6# diam.) just does not have the shock strength that a higher pound test would have. I am going to spool one rod with Yozuri Hybrid 12lb. and the other with Sufix Braid 40lb. I will see which one I like better over the next couple of weeks. BTW, to all that answered, thank you for the help!!
  16. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  17. I have no words!!! You are the man!!!
  18. Nice fish and great pics. Keep it up!!
  19. No. Typical email that gets circulated around. I was on Snopes the other night and remember seeing something on this. No worries.
  20. Hey 5bass, I want to hear some feedback soon on those GLX's. Mainly how they compare to the Heliums. You have both now and I trust your judgement. I want to make sure I'm not missing out on something. And for those of you that want to turn this into a Kistler vs. G-Loomis thread, PLEASE REFRAIN!!! I'm just interested in the GLX's that's all.
  21. I started laughing out loud as soon as I saw the pic. That's Avid all right!! ;D
  22. Biggest thing I learned this year was not setting the hook so hard while fishing jigs. My landing ratio while fishing a jig has went from about 60% to about 90%. Both LBH and RW chimed in this past spring when I was having this problem. Thanks Guys!!!
  23. Pond Hopper, do you feel that the larger diameter braid such as 40-50 lb. test is sensitive enough for jig fishing?
  24. That's the way to do it. It's just like pulling off a band-aid. Do it all at once!!!
