  1. I haven't heard about any tackle purchases coming from your way in a while. I was started to get worried about you, thought maybe you were slipping. ;D
  2. I always put my truck in 4wd low range when pulling the boat out. It is a lot easier on your trucks transmission, you don't jerk the boat or the trailer, and your tires will wear much less. And believe me, you will not forget that it's in 4 low when you pull out. ;D
  3. This will get you started. http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com

That's what I'm talking about!! You make it real hard for a person to decide. ;D
  5. That craw pattern and shad pattern is awesome. Do you know when they are going to start taking orders?
  6. I have a few small lakes around me that have 10 hp limits or electric motors only. I fished these a bit more last year than the year before. I will probably do more of the same this year. I just trim the big motor up and use the trolling motor to fish these small lakes. I am kind of limited on the 300 acre lakes on how far I can go but the smaller 100-150 acre lakes are just right for a trolling motor. A few of these smaller lakes are C&R only like the bigger lakes I fish so that helps keep the size up I'm used too. It's gonna cost me about $40.00 in fuel every day I go out on the big lakes so I feel your pain too.
  7. That's pretty normal at Wal-mart. People always stand in the middle of the aisle and want to talk.
  8. I'm with you Matt.
  9. From the pics, it looks like you got some skills on the fly-tying bench. I'm a closet fly fisherman so I'm always up to looking at fly patterns. Nice work.
  10. If your boat floats away from the dock and you're lucky enough to have a Revo and a rod somewhere close, you can reel your boat back to the dock. I thought you knew that RW. ;D Besides missing you at Guntersville, I am very disappointed that I am not going to have the opportunity to fish the Revo/Kistler combination you promised me! Next year. ;D ;D 8-) Oh but your gonna get the Daiwa/Kistler opportunity. I will make sure of that. Pity too, you'll be throwing away all those "other" rods and reels you use after that. ;) ;D Micro, pretty interesting information on the drag. You got me curious as to what drag pressure I use. I tested my drag pressure on one of my Alphas and it was about 4.5 pounds of drag force. I kind of always thought that Daiwa was a little light in the drag department. Most of their reels only average between 6-8 pounds of drag force. Makes me feel better now knowing that I'm not even using all of the capable drag pressure on my Daiwas. Thanks for posting!!
  11. That good huh? ;D
  12. I have always been a little curious about this stuff. The part where it says it will help eliminate coils in your line got my attention. I may have to give it a try.
  13. Real glad your feeling better and everthing is okay. I think a positive attitude goes farther and does one better than any medicine ever could. You'll be rippin' lips in no time.
  14. X2 Bastages!!!
  15. I wish everyone would follow this advice, especially those soccer moms in their big SUV's going 70 mph on four inches of snow. I just shake my head and give them plenty of room. Something's gonna happen and it ain't gonna be good!!! ;D
  16. I just got off the phone with him. They are on their way back and are going through Sevierville, TN right now and stopping at Bass Pro Shops. I guess the weather and the wind down there were something to behold. He said they had two foot waves and the wind was blowing the boat all over the lake. All this mixed with downpours and 40 degree temps have made for tough fishing conditions. He said they were expecting 25 mph winds tomorrow with snow in the forcast and they wasn't gonna stay around for that. I can't say I blame him much. I'm sure he'll post all about it later on tonight when he gets home.

Marty, you just keep getting better and better. As soon as I get some money ahead when I get back from the G'ville trip, I would like to order about a dozen cranks off you if that would be okay. You're work is first class IMO.

Fine job on that rod. Everything looks real neat especially the epoxy job. I would be very happy with that job if I were you and good choice on the thread colors too.
  19. Nice fatty and great pic too.
  20. Dude, if I am ever fortunate enough to make it to Cali, I want to fish with you for just one day. I don't even care if I catch anything. I just want to see one of those huge baits get eat.
  21. I just wanted to say a quick thank you to Dom for the meatballs. I am crazy about Italian food, thanks a lot buddy!! Reality hit me today about the trip. I made an appointment for next Thursday to get a new impellar installed at my local marina. There is nothing wrong with the one in there, it's just been in there going on five years and I don't want anything ruining this trip. The week after that, it's go time. I can't believe how fast it snuck up on me. I don't think I've ever been this excited to go on a fishing trip. WOO HOO!!! Two weeks to go. I am leaving Saturday the 22nd at 6 am. 517 miles and 9.5 hours of driving. I can't wait!!!
  22. Italian for me. I could eat it until I explode.
  23. Atta boy Bucket!! Hopefully I will be having the same experience soon.
