  1. Thanks for suggestions and help y’all. I’ve decided against fishing this weekend, don’t think I’m ready, symptoms took a downturn a bit ago. I did notice that when I perform some exercises intended strengthen the rotator cuff muscles, my shoulder stability improves. Since it’s been a while, fortunately, since I’ve done anything to “hurt” this injury, instead of fishing I’m going to look at more aggressively and regularly performing PT. Stretching the rotator cuff muscles directly seems to worsen my symptoms and shoulder stability but strengthening might actually help. It’s my left shoulder too, and I am right handed. Who woulda thunk.
  2. I’ve been told that floating docks are just plain inferior to fixed docks. Meaning that fixed docks are almost always better to fish. Don’t know how much truth there is to that statement… anyone care to share their thoughts on this assertion?
  3. It ain’t! But more power to ya and thanks for the info
  4. I think I outta pick up a foam roller and tennis ball Thanks I have some days off from PT where I can try those exercises. PT guy will put a heated blanket on my upper back after conclusion of exercises and that helps a good bit also. So I got two hot packs
  5. Thanks. It is my upper back, but not really. Shoulder I believe is more accurate, and to a degree on both sides of my body. I do not have a diagnosis. By now Ive probably hurt it over half a dozen times because it’s been truly very hard to heal. I initially called it a “lat” injury but now I’m thinking that aspect may be my teres minor? I dunno. Physical therapy is aimed at helped my lat, rhomboid, teres minor, and mobility. There might be some supraspinatus stuff going on too. Just the shoulder blade, basically, is what I think it is. How I’ve hurt it in the past: Lat cable rows from elevated arm position, one arm and torso a bit rotated (there could be some bad form here), paddling, front squatting, carrying stuff in front of my body, repetitive shoulder motions, especially when there is some back-and-forth going on… includes washing dishes, wiping surfaces, sweeping, etc. Its okay. I generally feel like I’m being taken of when I go into PT and I’ve seen some mild progress recently and have an idea of what is good for it and what isn’t. But even my PT guy agrees that it will be a long road for recovery So why does fishing aggravate it? I believe it’s the “throwing” motion of casting and the repetitiveness of the activity
  6. Hope you feel better soon. Of course I’m going to toss a spinnerbait! Lol. Symptoms did worsen a little but I can’t remember doing anything wrong…. think I’m still okay… we’ll see what happens over next few days. Tried some stretching and that didn’t seem to hurt it any even though there was some short-term discomfort. So going to try regular stretching similar to what @throttleplate did for his rhomboid issue. I feel like I’m getting close to finding the right concoction of behaviors that will speed up healing and make this more manageable. I have no idea what the outlook is like for long-term recovery
  7. I actually didn't know Chick-Fil-A was truly religiously rooted. I really need to get out more. Of course I heard it called "The Lord's Chicken" but didn't know everything bout it besides it also being closed on Sundays... yeah it lines up. Understand your preference now, it's all good!
  8. How can you possibly dislike the Lord’s chicken? I mean it’s been months since I had Chick-Fil-A but I like it. Bojangles is even better. You’re so far up North I dunno if you know Bojangles ?
  9. Man this commentary had me cracking up, I have to admit. Zona talking about Hackney. 1:26:14 and onward is what you want.
  10. Two of the best changes I made to my t-rig fishing were slack(er) line falls via feeding line and stopping spool with my thumb before water landing. That second one might be the best thing technique adjustment I've ever made. Started it years ago.
  11. Falcon Expert Head Turner x Abu Garcia REVO Winch Gen 4. Spinnerbait setup, of course. The Head Turner is still relatively new but the Winch has caught an awful lot of bass and shows signs of wear. Best all-purpose spinnerbait setup I can imagine.
  12. Thanks man. I actually plan on taking a break every 20 minutes or so. taking breaks while doing daily activities that can cause me pain was one of the key changes I made in my routine.
  13. I have some songs that will instantly take me back in time and revive old feelings. I wonder if that’s why older folks seem to often listen to the music they grew up with. I can listen to a song and remember driving back after catching my PB. Can listen to another and remember prom night Can listen to another and remember heading to go out fishing in early fall NY on my magic Menderchuck ponds.
  14. I think I’ll be fishing for a little this weekend, once again trying to resume activities! I made a few key changes in my daily routine + physical therapist and I are now solidly on the same page with what needs to happen. Been seeing rather rapid progress over past few days in terms of pain level and functionality in some things. Hoping this isn’t another fleeting glimmer of hope. Been extremely rough trying to heal this. Stay healthy y’all and take care of your body.
  15. Dang nice. Like Omnia. Might be time to find a rod to pair up with the zillion Thanks for heads up!
  16. Would replace all mine because warranty/replacement is nice. iRod Lone Star Special, iRod 704C, Falcon Head Turner. All great rods that I really love and probably the ones I use the most
  17. Would you mind sharing some examples of spinnerbaits that you like that trailer on?
  18. Don’t attach your sanity to the way people react to you or behave. I’ve met many people that will take constructive criticism just fine, and others, including myself sometimes, who don’t realize the value of the constructive criticism in the moment but may realize its value later. But I’ve been blessed to be around some nice people.
  19. Seldom realized is that this thread is potentially more dangerous than the Tackle Purchase Thread
  20. I’m really impressed. I’m a young guy and can only manage to get to bed before 8:30 with some melatonin and preparation
  21. Sure, sure you are. See you at the boat ramp at 3 AM again, terrific basshead ?
  22. Never consistent. If want/need to wake up earlier I try and go to bed earlier
  23. I’m a 5 on moving bait, 7 on bottom contact or baits with slack uptake kinda guy. 6 on something that does both An exception is swim jigs. I actually like em on my jig setup with a 7 speed
  24. Just made Greek night. This is the bomb diggity. Might be my fav I’ve made Could use more chicken next time I think though
  25. Drove home enjoying some Halsey
