  1. Thank you for the well wishes! And you as well! I hope to make it out fishing/exploring for a short while today
  2. iRod Genesis III Harold’s Lone Star Special 6’9” Medium Heavy if generally throwing lighter rigs and generally no worms of the 10-12” variety. It’s in the name! This is the Texas rig special. Runs $150, iRod has excellent customer service
  3. Hey ya’ll, Need recommendations on a green glimmer skirt as close as I can get to this one. This is one of the best spinnerbaits I’ve used and want to be able to continue to recreate it once this skirt goes bad. The actual skirt is a Picasso but I believe I would need to buy another one of their spinnerbaits to get the exact skirt.
  4. I shoulda guessed. You really do catch a lotta fish on that speed worm don’t ya? ?
  5. What are you throwing midcolumn in midsummer? I’ve struggled in that area
  6. Hey ya’ll, If you had to guess, what percentage of your bass that you catch…. We’ll go with in recent times…. Are caught in each of these three categories? What percentage off topwater, what percentage somewhere in the middle of water column, what percentage off bottom? And if you had to guess, what does your time allocation in each of these three zones look like in comparison to one another e.g how long do you spend fishing topwater in comparison to bottom/midcolumn?
  7. From NC, always called em crawfish but even if people around me called em crayfish or crawdads (I can’t remember), then I’d still probably call em crawfish because I’m weird.
  8. 3/4 thats a hefty spinnerbait. I will use my Falcon Expert Head Turner because out of my rods that is what I would prefer (it's my spinnerbait rod) but it would load the rod a little heavier than ideal. That rod balances really well with a 1/2oz spinnerbait. 15# big game. I would pick some true heavy with a mod fast taper if could have any rod
  9. I am pleased to report that I think the needling.. or something at least... really helped problems surrounding my shoulder blade. The area on my lat... seemingly not so much. But I am very pleased with progress at the moment. Fished a little today and while casting I forgot for a while that I even had an injury. Casting came very easy. Haven't really felt pain around my shoulder blade very much at all. Now tomorrow to find my lost phone somewhere in the bushes ?
  10. Sweet day, nice. Those reeds look like they are fun to fish
  11. This head is shaky head approved by the man I know as “the shaky head wizard”
  12. I saw a purple grasshopper today. Like dang girl, you from LA or sumthin?
  13. As @TnRiver46 mentioned, fishin a lot. Unfortunately can’t do it as much right now, and part of the reason includes…. Fishin too much earlier this summer. And… just gimme a spinnerbait! Good at casting one of these quietly and accurately and tweaking around with spinnerbaits to make em work for me. Good knowledge of the how, when, where of spinnerbaits.
  14. Same way I started to approach Largemouth fishing short while ago! The trouble is that I still ain’t good at finding that spot ?
  15. Very nice, sir! ?
  16. Own 6 baitcasters and 4 of them are heavy. One isn’t a true heavy (Falcon). don’t really know how I wound up with 4 heavy’s but it chose me, I didn’t choose it. That’s my story and I’m stickin to it ?
  17. Lots of threads in the fishing rods/line subforum about good frog rods. Can just search frog rods and I’m sure you’ll find some suggestions. I’ll just say for an inexpensive froggin rod I like my Lew’s Carbon Fire 7’3” Heavy. @PhishLI and I done talked about that rod on another thread, it is a cool little gem.
  18. I only have this season to base off of, but a swim jig around the spawn was incredible for me this year. Throw a spinnerbait and they would just slap it. Throw a swim jig and they would eat it whole. Just burning along in the shallows. You could not fish it fast enough. JC has a video where he explains that a swim jig around the spawn behaves like a threatening bluegill or perch looking to disturb the bed and get a meal Swim jig victims in NY:
  19. Thanks for the info. For now I’ll see if what they are doing helps me but I can try some light stretching. The therapist told me that if the dry needling doesn’t produce results this first time then we won’t do it. I trust this guy. He seems flexible and is just trying out different things to see what helps me.
  20. You're gosh darn right
  21. The bait monkey hired you didn't he?
  22. Sleeper of a TOOL song. Old school (off '96 album) and dark.
  23. Id never heard of it either but that’s about the size of it. He looked for places in my lat and underneath my shoulder blade where there was tenderness or knots. He then poked them and often, he’d hit something he called a “trigger point” where the muscle is tight and not relaxed. The dry needling is supposed to increase blood flow to the affected muscles by relieving that pressure via soft tissue work.
  24. I have a confession to make. I am a big baby when it comes to needles. Had some dry needling done today on my back, PT wanted to try it to see how my body reacts to it, never done needling before, and I unfortunately was not very calm. “Just relax…” *twitches intensely* ”Did I hit a nerve?” ”No…” I just can’t stand it that a needle is poking my muscle and making it twitch ? This dry needling stuff isn’t supposed to be bad but I did not behave very well. At least my back feels nice. I can’t stand blood drawing the most but have given blood and will continue to.
