Accurate Casting
I’ve seen it both ways. Where shorter casts/pitches and really quiet presentations were the answer and when longer casts and as quiet as you could get it were the answer. Accurate casting is huge. And if anyone doesn’t stop the spool with their thumb on the end of their cast, highly encourage you try it. It really makes the presentation quieter and more natural.

If you could have any baitcasting reel
A good slow (5:something) that is left handed. There are not really that many of these reels that I’ve found but I’ll take any one of them ?

Saw your edit for the question just now. I am intrigued by spoons and I really love Nichols. It isnt on my immediate bait monkey shopping list, though. But nice to hear good things about it.

Can't believe I forgot about that. Yes, it works awesome, try it ya'll. The swimming action created by that tail makes it look very real. Thank you for reminding me of this.

Favorite moving bait?
Spinnerbait. But they have been less effective for me this time of year and I won’t force it. @Catt and @Mike L mentioned swimming a worm. That treated me well recently.

Timing
Why is maximum light penetration beneficial?
-
Timing
This is why I’ve been trying to spend longer periods of time on the water. Getting myself on the water is second nature. Keeping myself there after 6-7 hours is a work in progress.

In love with the abu garcia black max, your opinions?
I heard Matt Robertson fishes with a black max reel on his ugly sticks. Just kidding, never heard a bad thing about the reels so assume they work good

Rod guide replacement
Hey ya'll, Had an unexpected detachment of a rod guide recently. It broke off. Can get pictures soon if needed. The rod is a Fenwick Elite Tech Casting. The missing guide is not the tip, it is somewhere in the middle. An old timer told me that I can replace the guide, he said that the guide is a Fuji guide and that I can use silicon glue after inserting it back in to seal the guide. What I'm wondering is if I can find the specific guide I need or if I need to purchase an entire kit of guides. This would really help me out ya'll. Any other recommendations extremely welcome.

Zoom baits
Zoom z hog has worked in chocolate milk water for me. It doesn’t make sense to me. That thing just glides. Natural color too. No, scent isn’t a big deal to me anyway.

I don’t know about softer but black is my best color by far

Do you need backing for flouro carbon?
Straight fluorocarbon scares me. I’m terrified of it. If it was between fluoro on a baitcaster and spinning reel with anything, I’m taking the spinning reel.
