  1. I got some X-ray results back. I’m not even 25 years old but I already have a mild case of arthritis in my back. Something is slightly out of place as well. I don’t want to go into what caused this, but I’ve dished out a fair share of abuse to my body. Fortunately, I don’t currently experience much pain day to day and have been working a great gym routine. I’m hoping that through minimizing impact on my joints and strengthening my core, I can remain quite functional for many years.
  2. I am baffled at the images shown and cannot determine if these are meant to egg me on or to deceive me! If these images are true, they could take a whole three weeks off my search!
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen, I’ve spent the past decade searching high and low for Lake Menderchuck. One day, I dream that I, too, can catch a smallmouth bass. I’ve deployed all manners of devices to try and locate @A-Jay’s treasured watering hole. Drones. Trail cameras. Bribed birds. It took me the better part of several years to prove that Lake Menderchuck is in the Northern United States. What victory. I called my Mom but she still wasn’t proud of me. But now, oh now. Wait till she hears what I’ve found now. I’ve really got the Michigan Poseidon cornered now. Oh yes. I found the STATE. That’s right. Folks, Lake Menderchuck is in MICHIGAN. 🤯. I anticipate that I will have the lake fully located by the year 2074. 💪🏻 We love you A-Jay
  4. Sheesh. Might have to get some Tatsu
  5. Need to get you back out on the yak 🛶
  6. Awesome news on the great fishing, @thediscochef! Bad news on the chiggers. I hate those things. They can rot in hell.
  7. Difficult question to answer because this varies widely by body of water. We all fish different water with different catch rates. What if a semi-decent catch rate on a lake is a fish an hour? Many public lakes are like this now. How do you know if you’re fishing the right lure or not when you’ve only been at it for 45 minutes or so? You might find something that helps you by switching lures 45 minutes in, then again in another hour. Or you might not. You might spend all day switching lures looking for some little something when you should have stuck to your guns and ground out a few good-size fish on a tough day.
  8. Shaky head and neko rig is it for me regarding “real” finesse. I’ll fish these on 8lb line, small hooks, and spinning tackle. Using anything below 8lb test sounds horrifying and stupefies me.
  9. Absolutely. I’ve had to take several breaks over the past several months. It happens. You just roll your sleeves up and tell yourself that the fish will be waiting for you when you get back. Best of luck to you in the Master’s program and congratulations on continuing your education!
  10. While jig fishing I am positive I have felt bass swallow my jig and then reject it before I set hook. Multiple times
  11. @Catt nice. To confuse everyone even further, here:
  12. 7 months later, still ain’t thrown a chatterbait. The doctor recommends I stay away from them. #aspinnerbaitadaykeepsthechatterbaitaway
  13. I throw a small jig when I want to imitate something small. I throw a big jig when I want to imitate something bigger. I throw a heavier jig when I want the jig to fall faster. I throw a lighter jig when I want it to fall slower.
  14. Hey now, we warned you. We didn’t jinx you. You jinxed yourself 😁
  15. Yes. I was hit by a truck while I was driving in an ATV when I was much younger. I was at fault. I panicked when I started to fall into a ditch and overcorrected, swerving into the road. The truck driver slammed on his brakes but could not stop in time. On impact, I flew out of the ATV, blacking out, and skidded all the way across the road, landing in a ditch on the other side of the road. Amazingly, I suffered only a mild concussion and burns and scrapes across my back. I consider it a miracle that I did not suffer more bodily damage.
  16. You just jinxed it. Pike said they’ll see you next time
  17. Stillhouse Hollow is dropping at a swift pace, but news authorities claim cleanup is necessary following water receding before the lake can open. I think we are another month or two out from the lake reopening, and even that could be optimistic. The season is young
  18. You may have room to open up the wire angle for more blade clearance
  19. - A couple of family friends. One of them got me started into fishing - Greg Hackney as an idol - Jimmy Houston as an idol
  20. Well, she mentioned a bunch of stuff about fish biology that I didn’t really understand. Something about “short-term suspension relief” and “mid-season crisis” but she did say she was going to check on her “favorite crawfish hole” and maybe relax in the shade of a lily pad a little
  21. Yes. She called me. She’s been at the spa but she’ll be back tomorrow
  22. Ordered 10x Coda Apex Jigs for dock skipping in NC soon. TX-based small company. Wire-tied jigs with owner jungle hooks and a little shorter skirts that flare well.
  23. Pretty much how I’d be doing it, yeah. Is it working?
