  1. I go on the bps site almost daily and haven't seen them on sale for a few weeks at least. I see them now.
  2. I would say you got a great deal but be prepared to put at least close to if not signifigantly more than $1000 into the boat. I don't know the condition of the boat but I recently bought a boat and motor for $750 and it was a 2004 and I have had to replace the following. Wheels and tires Hubs leaf springs trailer wiring and lights new strap transom saver gas tank gas lines all wiring running lights depth finder switches carbs cleaned lower unit oil before starting change the gas and make sure the oil is mixed properly. If the motor starts and person who owned it before ran the carbs dry before letting it sit, the carbs might not need to be cleaned/rebuilt. Defenitely replace the impeller if you get the motor started. If the motor doesn't start get a compression test before putting any more money into the motor. even if the motor is shot I think you got a heck of a deal. You can find motors on craigslist really cheap right now. It should be a heck of a fishing machine.
  3. where are you buying bps extreme reels for $39.00
  4. Buy a Minn Kota you will not be sorry. Also, saw in one of the BPS ads a foot controlled BPS branded trolling motor but it had the composite shaft and MK style foot control. I couldn't find it on the website but if you have a BPS close by you may want to take a look. It was a really good price too. I believe a 55lb for less than $300, but I could be wrong.
  5. There are a couple of places up in Ormond Beach where you can shore fish. Look up Ormond Beach Central Park.
  6. for $39.00 I would buy a couple. I have around 5 or 6 BPS reels and I have never had a problem with any of them and I absolutely love them.
  7. It was my first jig fish because, it is really the first time I actually put some time into throwing the jig, but it was exciting to catch a fish on something new. I have added the jig to my arsenal. Also, the guy I was fishing with caught his first two fish on the jig.
  8. take it back to the place you bought it.

Does anyone else get back pain in the mid back on their cranking side while fishing? I have been getting mid back pain on my cranking side while fishing for quite a while now and don't know how to stop from getting this pain. It is like a muscle fatigue type of pain. I really enjoy craking but chucking and winding doesn't last long because of the pain I get in my back.
  10. It is Lake Theresa in Deltona, FL
  11. Went fishing this morning around 630 and caught a few small ones uncluding my first jig fish, but caught a nice 7lber on a spinnerbait. We got out to wade this shallow flat, about 1.5ft of water and she every so subetly took my spinnerbait in and the fight was on. There wasn't much of a fight but when she made the first jump I was excited. Here is a pic.
  12. That sucks. It sounds to me like you should have picked the boat up a few weeks ago having paid for what they have done and taken the boat to a different shop in the area. Also from reading your earlier post about this, you could have done half the work yourself.
  13. Darrel Waltrip but now I pull for Kurt Busch
  14. I'm pretty sure a dime size chunk would probably create some problems.
  15. Nice fish! Probably closer to 4 lbs but unless you have a scale you will never know.
  16. You can put any brand motor on the boat but if it already has controls on the boat they will probably only fit a Mercury motor. If no controls you can either tiller steer if you get a tiller steer motor or buy all the controls for the motor.
  17. If it is under warranty just take it in to get fixed, but it is probably the speed selector switch under the top head.
  18. I have the biggest everstart marine battery from walmart with a 46lb thrust endura trolling motor and can stay out for at least 5 hours.
  19. If you are getting a new digital camera get a Canon Powershot. Best money you will ever spend on a camera.
  20. sounds like it may be a fuel problem.
  21. Yeah, I would have no problem with him using the word holy crap around small children.
  22. when my dad had to repair our boat that is parked under a carport he fabricated out of wood two jack stand type stands for the stern of the boat and used a come a long attached to the support braces of the carport to the bow of the boat and just slightly lifted the boat so the trailer could be pulled out from under the boat. This worked really well but if i was going to be working under the boat I would make a couple extra braces for the boat or use a couple extra come a longs attached to the stern eyes of the boat.
  23. It all depends on the size of your livewell. Until I got my new boat I used a cooler and two battery powered aerators as my livewell. I was able to keep a limit of fish alive and healthy for a full day.
  24. To mount it without the quick relase bracket you have to remove both the side plates. There should be two screws holding the side plates on. This is how I mounted my powerDrive. Let me know if you need anything more tips on mounting the powerdrive.
  25. Your problem is exactly the problem I was having with my boat before I got the carbs cleaned. After I got the carbs cleaned everything runs and starts perfect now.
