  1. No. It’s a major, six lane bridge that’s a mile long. They haven’t released details on what happened. My guess would be that their motor quit, or that the current just swept them into the bridge. The current can be crazy in that area.
  2. You have. Unfortunately, the same thing is going on now that was going on when you were here then. A man in his 60s and a teenager went fishing about a week ago, hit a bridge piling, and were thrown overboard. The teenager was rescued, but they’re still searching for the older man. Very sad.
  3. My first smallmouth of 2023. 3 lb 2oz on my lunch break today. My first smallmouth of the year is usually a dink so maybe this is a sign of good things to come for this year.
  4. We had a beautiful 65 degree day so I hit the river bank on my lunch break. I was rewarded with a 3 lb 2 oz smallie. My best lunchbreak of 2023 so far. ?

I usually change a craw lure when they lose a claw. I may care if it only has one claw, but I don't think a fish cares. I used to catch crawfish to sell to fishermen on the weekends when I was a kid. We caught thousands and thousands of them. Many only had one claw. I think it's a fairly normal occurrence for a fish to see a one arm crawfish in nature. I believe the fish eat them before they count the arms. ?
  6. A 12 lber is waiting for you! Go get 'em!
  7. I lost my biggest fish of ‘22 fishing grass with a red lipless in the spring. I plan to put that fish in the boat in ‘23. lure prediction = red lipless
  8. Congrats on the boat. I'm sure that first trip will make the anticipation worth the wait.
  9. I-65 (near Ardmore) is about halfway between Wheeler & Guntersville dams. It's an hour or so drive from I-65 to either dam. That beautiful part of the Tennessee River you drive across on 65 goes through the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, which is the home of north Alabama's gator population. Not a ton of them, but they're there.
  10. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as the forecast says. He’s probably out fishing. ?
  11. I haven't seen them in my local store yet, but the Academy website has H2OX brand senko style baits, trick worm style baits, creature baits, and paddle tails in addition to the hard baits. They don't have all the colors of the major brands, but they cover the basics. I'm sure I'll give them a try after I use up the stuff I got at Christmas.
  12. That just might be the fattest 16" bass I've ever seen. Wow! The forage base in your lake may be in trouble with gluttons like that around. ?
  13. There are many possibilities, but if I only get one vote I vote for @A-Jay. He has an impressive collection of baits. He doesn't overtly push baits, but whenever someone asks about a bait he posts a picture with 10 of the lures in every color imaginable. Also, every time I watch a video of him catching another giant I suddenly feel the urge to go buy whatever he was using.
  14. Well done!
  15. It's rare and special when someone can give an instrument that is played so many people a unique voice. Jeff Beck definitely did that. His sound is instantly recognizable among a million guitarists. @Deleted account I could listen to him play Nessun Dorma all day. Thanks for posting that one.
  16. Honey, there's two feet of ice on the front of the house. We're moving!
  17. You could see if your local high school has a fishing team. If they do, I’m sure they’d appreciate any donations. After you clean out the old stuff you can go buy more stuff you’ll never use, repeat, repeat, repeat. You help the economy, and your local school program. ? ?
  18. Our whole family enjoyed Top Gun. That's unusual. Haven't seen the new Avatar yet.
  19. A bit of a downer for me. I was going to go fishing at lunch, but it's been raining...so it's all work & no play for me today.
  20. I’m not familiar with that sauce, but it sounds pretty good. Congrats on rediscovering a family recipe. That’s always a good feeling.
  21. Congrats on mighty a fine gift. I’m sure she feels it’s well earned. I hope it’s a great trip.
  22. That’s exactly what I would say if a celebrity fisherman put my fishing spots on TV, and I wanted to throw people off. DENY! DENY! DENY! ? ?
  23. Great looking fence! Merry Christmas!
