  1. Merry Christmas to you too!
  2. Sad news. He was incredibly knowledeable, and always willing to generously share his knowledge. His contribution to this site will be missed, but not forgotten.
  3. Merry Christmas BR friends!
  4. There’s one pond that I fish where I have never caught a single fish on a white spinnerbait, but i have a black spinnerbait with black and red strands that will catch them all day there. I have never caught a fish on that spinnerbait anywhere else, but it works great in that pond. You’ll never know unless you try it. A mouse colored spinnerbait is one of my favorite, and most successful spinnerbait colors anywhere I fish.
  5. Nice fish! Way to stick with it.
  6. @T-Billy…man of a thousand muskies. Awesome year, man!
  7. What, no drum @TnRiver46? 😂 I always like a nice multi species day.
  8. The kids went to grandma’s to help her trim the tree, so I fished for a little while. Air temperature was 36 degrees, and the fishing was as cold as the temp. I did spook one fish walking along the bank, but I didn’t even get a nibble. Nice fish @N Florida Mike! I knew you’d like that tilapia magic @king fisher!
  9. @king fisher I like tilapia magic too. It catches fish, and it’s on sale fairly regularly near me.
  10. Prayers for you, and for all the people who will go through it with you.
  11. I agree. There are many ways to fish. We can all fish however we like, as long as it’s legal. I prefer artificial because I like to cast, but I fish live bait sometimes. It is still fun, just different. If you’re not fishing where the fish are it doesn’t matter whether you fish with live, or artificial bait…you aren’t catching anything. Great fish, Mike!
  12. I haven't had a chance to post pics lately so these are from almost a month ago. Nothing big, but a fair number of short, chunky fish. They were biting lipless, spinnerbaits, trick worms, senkos, inline spinners, etc. The only big fish I caught is this 11 lb drum. Since I included a picture of a drum I thought I should post a nice sunset to make up for it.
  13. I should be set on rat-l-traps for a while. I bought the three colors on the bottom row, but the sale on the Bill Lewis site included a free chrome blue back for every one I bought, plus they threw in a free hat, and free shipping. Not a bad deal.
  14. If you mean lure types (spinnerbait, crankbait, etc.), then I probably use 50% of what I have. If you're talking color variations within each lure types, then it's probably closer to the square root of pi...which I believe meets bait monkey approval.
  15. @T-Billy is about to get to get serious because there's THE HAT! Looking forward to seeing #100 soon.
  16. If you're a fan of the original rat-l-trap. The Bill Lewis website adds a free chrome blue back rat-l-trap in your cart for every lure you put in your cart. For $50 I bought 8 traps in various colors, got 8 chrome blue back traps for free, plus they included a free $25 hat. It doesn't appear to be advertised anywhere on their site that I see, but it worked for me. Maybe an early black friday deal? Just thought I'd share. https://www.rat-l-trap.com/
  17. @TnRiver46 is so good he catches fish without even trying. You da man!
  18. It's hard to find a good dealer (for anything, not just boats), but it's even harder to lose a good dealer.
  19. The latest catch pic topic is my favorite thread. I love seeing pictures of what people catch. I don't care if the fish are big, or small. If it has a long report I may not read it until @Swamp Girl quotes a thoughtful/insightful line that was said, and then I'll circle back to it when I can. I rarely do this myself, but I really enjoy the detailed individual trip report posts that people do when I have more time.
  20. Nice fish. I like the design of that bait.
  21. Glad to hear she’s doing well. 😊
