Daytime bright sky fishing
hahah...I remember Roland Martin saying in bright light, the bass cant put on sunglasses, so they move into the shady stuff..like under mats and stuff. so I look at bright days as a way to get bass to go where I think they may be going.

Neko rod recommendation
oh..I think the Jade Python would work awesome. that's what is going to replace my Phenix Maxim.

How much has electronics changed your fishing?
Me too. I just have the garden variety of fish finder. Side scan even. For black bass I think the FF just gives me a hint. Depth, temp, etc. I cast way out beyond the scope of my electronics anyways. I do surprisingly fine. I do like seeing huge clouds of bait fish. I know predators are around usually

I use a 2500 Tatula spinning reel for huge Oklahoma striped bass. Three years in a row now. Zero issues. And a 2500 Procyon AL. it gets exciting. I love it. And I own a 3000. I don’t need the line capacity.

i'm going to develops a buzzbait game!
zero success thusfar. i see blowups right next to me, with friends. i want that for myself. seems like it might be my imagination, but the Buzz-B seems to get a better class of fish. (true?) so i did a thing. i ordered some Teckel products. the maxsqueaker, and a double blade buzzbait that looks kinda crazy, and fun...like that wild uncle mom wont leave you at as a kid. line? braid for sure right? i'll probably run a short stiff leader. in the past i had some troubles getting it to come to the surface immediately. and finally, trailers? even needed?

Looking for crankbait tips...missing fish
i bet youre just having one of those moments. :D. tomorrow will be deep gullet hooksets.
-
How far can you pitch?
i can hit a manhole cover in my culdesac from about 50 feet. on water, standing in my kayak, all bets are off. 30 feet, in "that" direction is pretty good. off a bass boat, i dont embarrass myself.

Looking for crankbait tips...missing fish
i run 12-14lb flouro. and my rod is a bit loose. i find i was bass's best friend. i was so keyed in on the bait that any slap of a fish, and i would react and lean back. not a hook set, but a lean. i was taking the bait back from the fish. lighter line and a more moderate rod mitigated it significantly. a DT6 is pretty sticky with the OEM hooks, too. weird. maybe swap them out for even better hooks?

Braid to fluoro with knot preferences
My big takeaway from this “yet another knot” discussion is the SHIN FUKEA knot. Looks like an interesting one. Don’t love his neko hook, but I’ll try his knot.

Truck Question
I love a Truck cap. my 2006 tacoma has one, my 2023 does not. a cap is super convenient for me. road trips for starters. I can load up for a hunting trip and stack things. no worries sleeping at some hotel. I bet Leer can come dang close to matching your truck color. it is what they do. I might do a Alu-cab for my 2023. not sure.

New Zillion in '26?
I dont ruminate over my Zillions. I just cast and unhook fish, let them go. Never noticed a plastic service port...and engine cover? what's that? what's the engine? (me? I'm the engine, no?) as for a new model in 2026? quite possible..since I plan on walking into a store and buying one or two in Yen. usually the new model comes out right after my purchase. (looking at you - NEWPORT VESSELS!!..looking at you!)

Frog for the thick stuff
I've been throwing the Clinker. klinker? some Teckel frog. has two brass blades on the back. when I pause it, it kinda goes tail down. makes a racket. if I could cast better, it would kill. I put it into all the junk. but my brain gets in the way of accuracy. haha.. the hits are pretty violent tho.

Heat Dome.
I was on the beach yesterday. good thing my wife and I brought hoodies. got downright brisk!! about 50deg. it was blissful.

you northern east coast folks. ever run across a Dark Matter fishing rod?
piqued my interests. shopping for a bottom bouncing, kayak rod for salt water delicious things. noticed they carry some interesting rods. the bait cast surf casting for starters, and then I trip across their bass rods. anyone see one for realz? I have a favorite flavor of bass rods for sure.. Domo Arigatogama...(lost it) just curious, but the ocean rods look really good to me.

Looking weightless worm rod suggestions
seems like you're doing fine!! weightless, I find I watch my line more than I feel the thump.

if I wanted to try a Steez Rod...
say, bottom contact. light jigs. no bigger than 3/8th. maybe 3/16th + bait free-rig. which one? or swim jigs, walking a ball head, a dark sleeper, etc.

Heat Dome.
