  1. I gave up on it quickly. More trouble than it's worth to me. I can tie an Alberto with ease and I haven't had one fail me yet.
  2. My first fish ever was an 18.5" carp caught fishing with my grandpa from his dock when I was 4 years old. I'm now 56 and that memory is still vivid in my mind. It ignited a lifelong passion.
  3. My first thought was it was made by a catfish noodler. Pretty good idea if that's the case. If it works that is. Instead of hunting hollow logs and holes in the bank, they made their own.
  4. Well written article loaded with sound advice. 👍👍
  5. I prefer full but most of my bass rods are split because they're more widely available and that factor takes a backseat to blank and guide quality, seat comfort, and overall value for my hard earned $$$.
  6. Beaver type bait on a flippin rig. Puts 'em in the boat ice out till ice over, clean water and dirty, shallow and deep, and comes through the thickest of cover.
  7. Nice way to kick off the new year!!! Congrats!!!
  8. Table rock? Use the biggest stuff you have!!!
  9. Pretty good way to start the year @tander . Congrats on a couple good ones. Good job getting Pops out on his birthday @NorcalBassin . I hope I'm blessed to still be out there at 81. I love seeing the eagles too. Never saw one in OH until 2010 or so. They're pretty common now.
  10. Times and technology change. People don't. I try to keep my focus on my final destination and not worry much about worldly stuff. It's a peaceful way to roll.
  11. I prefer 4# mono for my Panfish rigs. I like the handling qualities over light braid.
  12. I might get spun out on large deep lakes since I have little experience on them. Aside from that I feel like I'm pretty solid in fresh water. No salt experience so I'm pretty clueless there. I suppose I could probably blow out my flip flop, step on a pop top, stick my foot in the water, and catch a shark. 😂
  13. I'm a fan of the Texas Tackle pliers. They make a few different sizes.
  14. @king fisher, consistently making bass and muskie fishing seem boring. 😂 Congratulations on one heck of a trip brother!!!
  15. Must have lures for muskie fishing IMO. They've put many muskies in the net for me. Honestly, I could fish all summer with nothing but a Muskie Killer and a Llungen .22 Short and do pretty well.
  16. Thank you for this Andy. It instantly took me back 52 years and sat me on my grandpa's dock right next to him, watching a couple red and white bobbers dance. I was four years old and the memory is still vivid. That man was bigger than life to me in my youth. I lost him when I was 18. Now, at 56, I'm more like him than I ever could have imagined. I'm very happy and grateful for that. You made my day with that post brother. Thanks, and God bless you.
  17. Make sure you're well dressed, clean shaven, and have a fresh haircut when you post those first fish pics with it, or he'll make you send it back. 😂😉

I used to read novels on a regular basis. Anymore, I mostly just read my Bible and an occasional book on American history.
  21. Congrats @Bluebasser86. Awesome way to start the year!!!
