same. On spinning rods I do about 5-6’ of leader. I can break off multiple times on the same leader. Never come back with just Braid. My buddy learned some new leader knot from tactical bassin I think. Said It was the best. Slipped on his first hookset in a tournament with me. You could tell because of the curly braid. Spent like 10 minutes retying It and did the exact same thing next fish. I’m like bro, no more. Alberto in my boat if we’re tournament partners.

You’re certainly more experienced than me but I’ve used the Alberto for about 15 years with up to 50lb Braid to 20lb fc without any slippage. No super glue. I usually just however many wraps I feel like at the moment lol. 4 or 5 usually with the bigger stuff. 6 or so with the lighter. Alberto is the only knot I use OP.

I have the orochi I use for pitching t-rigs and jigs. Recently learned it’s a good magdraft rod too so plan to try those and some big bite b5 line throughs.

I wonder if the Lowrider All Round Fast might be a better replacement for what I use the Daiwa rod for?

@InfantryMP thanks! Jury still out on the tall mount for me. I’ll know more when I get out on the water. Worried now that it’ll be in the way for pitching. We’ll see! I can easily get the 5” riser and swap out if needed. I do like how It looks

Thank you so much. @casts_by_fly Well I’m for sure getting the Head Turner for light pitching and chatterbaits/spinnerbaits. If I were to get the All Around It would be to replace this rod: Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehrler Finesse AGS 7’ M-MH XF 1/8-1oz I don’t often use It but when I do it’s kind of an all purpose Rod for Senkos (weightless and very light weight), fluke/caffeine shad w/ 3/32 screwlock, underspin, dark sleeper, Sleeper gills. Things like that. I would add traps to that for the Falcon All Around.

I read your post. I’ve also been around a lot of people that think a stick is a bite or guess the fish they just caught was a 5 when it’s a 3 or think they have a world record bass and it’s a drum (all of which have happened to me). You instantly and briefly saw a fish flash before It broke your line. We just have to take your word that It was a bass. Possibly was a monster catfish.

Did you really just requote me? You’re thinking about this way too much. Anywhere in my post do you see that I said 10lb test means 10lb fish? That was simply a number I threw out. I could have said 5 and 15 or 7 and 20. The point was that it’s impossible to say.

If I was at the boat ramp after weigh in at my club tourney shooting the bull having this same exact conversation I 100% guarantee you I would say the exact same thing. Jesus Christ. Go get a new freaking reel. Yes back to fishing. If a small fish hits your lure right at the bank It could dang near yank the pole out of your hand (or snap the line). If the same fish hits your lure 20’ out, it’ll just be a regular bite.

Anyone have this rod? Falcon website says it’s a cranker but It doesn’t feel like one to me. What do you use yours for? You keep asking the same question and there’s no way to answer It. Way way way too many variables to why your line snapped. That’s like saying if a 10 lb bass broke your 10lb line with no drag then when mine is set correctly with 20lb line and It breaks It must have been a 30lb bass. Lol Something was weak in your line. Or you had a big catfish.
