Are Tubes Still a Thing?
I do a lot of river fishing and tubes are my most fished lure.

Bassmaster Top Lures Average
Number 1 was the first thing that hit me when I read the original post. Of course the top producing lure will be the same name as on their hat/jacket/boat/etc. After all, it's all about advertising. "Boy the Jaberwocky Rippledipple really slayed the bass in today".

The latest sale thread
I’d emailed. I was told January arrival when I emailed in December. Then March when I emailed again in February. I may call them tomorrow.

What's Your Most Productive Spinnerbait Color?
Years ago I used to catch lot on a black and green skirt. But that's what I read in a magazine article, so that's what I fished. I may have caught just as many or more on any other color if I'd have just fished it. I think often once we catch fish on something, we gain confidence it so continue to fish it and of course keep catching fish with it.

The latest sale thread
I ordered rods from ALF back in November and am still waiting on them. It would have been nice if they charged my card after the rods shipped like some companies do, but they took the funds up front. Four months later and they're still on backorder

Floating worms for drop shot/Free Rig?
I asked the company why they were listed as floating worms on their website since they don't float. They're response was "They are called floating worms, it is the way it is rigged and the action the fisherman puts on it, that makes it appear to float."

Floating worms for drop shot/Free Rig?
I just bought a couple bags of the "original trick worms". I filled the bathroom sink up with water, tossed one in, and it sank like a rock.

It's been a while . . . how about some knot talk!
I guess I'm in the old minority and still use the improved clinch knot.

Boat under 20’ storage length
My H17 Xpress can "carefully be backed into my 8' garage doors. Then with the with the trailer pushed to the left or right I can lower the door. The first time I backed the boat into the garage it took me 30 minutes. I've since narrowed the time frame down slightly

Line question
I’ve always been hesitant to use straight braid, but I used to know some hardcore smallmouth fisherman that used nothing but straight braid and swore that they hadn’t found the fish to be line sensitive.

Plastic Hellgrammites
I always fished plastic hellgrammites just like I fish the real ones. Just hook them and let them drift downstream. I will add a split shot if I need to cast further.

The boat market is crashing
I don't have a problem with anyone buying anything at any price that they can "afford". But we have a family that owe the school system because they can't pay for their two kids school lunches, but they post photos of their new bass boat with 250 hp motor, show screen shots of their forward facing sonar, and talk about all the local tournaments they're fishing in. When confronted about the lunch bills, the mom told me "we have bills to pay and have to prioritize them." They know the school system has to feed their kids, but the boat dealer doesn't have to let them keep the boat.

Trolling for bass
I always found it boring, but growing up I watched my dad catch quite a few bass trolling a Hellbender.

Do you use inline spinners for bass?
I've caught a few smallmouths in my local rivers with Mepps spinners, but just never fish them in lakes for some reason. Maybe I need to start.

Bought an ‘06… again.
People in my area want to bash on the 30-06 for some reason. I think it's just the trendy thing to do. But I'm a fan and the 30-06 will do anything I'd ever need it to do. With the right bullet it will kill anything in North America but isn't overkill for whitetail. I bought inventory of a closed gun shop and got several new Bergara Timber rifles. I've sold all the ones I don't want to keep other than one 30-06. Several locals have told me "anything but an 30-06 and I'd buy that". I just don't get it.

That $75 rod is now $100

Any interest in trapping?
I used to enjoy trapping coyote and foxes, but haven't trapped anything other than mice over the last several years. Every year I swear I'm going to dig my traps back out, but never seem to get around to it.

The Ideal Cartridge for...
I don't think there's ever a best cartridge for anything, there's just too many options now days. I can give you my favorites for what I hunt though. For coyotes and groundhogs it would be a 223. I've hunted them with 22-250, 220 Swift, 243, and a few others, but the 223 is accurate, easy on barrels, and does everything I ask of it. For deer it would be a 308. Another accurate cartridge, low recoiling while still carrying a 30 caliber bullet, and it also has a long barrel life. I've hunted them with everything from a 357 magnum up to 300 Winchester magnum, but the 308 is my favorite.

How to prevent freezing guides
I've used Chapstick rubbed on the eyes to help some in the past. I'm not sure what some of the ingredients may be doing to my line, so the other day I just let them freeze and tried to deal with it the best I could.

Rods for everything
I'm not up on all the correct rods, lines, and techniques since I grew up with an ultralight rod, a heavy rod for big fish, and a rod for everything else Only recently have I tried to expand my fishing with more "correct" equipment, but I'd think of the options you have, the 7' MHF would make a better jerkbait rod.

Another Braid To FC Knot Question....??
Everyone has opinions and I couldn’t argue either way, but I’ve read that the FG works best with braid and larger diameter leaders , but not so well with 4, 6, or 8 lb leaders since it needs larger leader size to dig into. I’m assuming you guys haven’t found that to be so? That’s one reason that I thought the Alberto or Shin knot might be better for my uses.

Another Braid To FC Knot Question....??
My uni to uni would break last year before my terminal knot so I'm thinking about tying Shin's knot myself this spring.

Daiwa Tatula TTU701MFS vs TTU711MLFS
Thanks everyone for your opinion. I ended up ordering both rods.

Daiwa Tatula TTU701MFS vs TTU711MLFS
I planned to buy a new spinning rod for Ned rigs, weightless plastics, and some tubes. I planned on buying the Tatula 701MFS, but I'm wondering if it would be up to handling the lighter baits. Would I be better off with the 711MLFS or would it not have enough backbone?

Winter rod/reel storage questions
Mine stay in an unheated unattached garage so get pretty darn cold, but I haven't noticed any damage from the cold. I keep them in a vertical rod rack with the reels attached. I've been thinking about some sort of reel cover just to keep dust out though.
