I took one bite and told the drill sgt that I was allergic to liver and onions and it would make me throw up. He didn’t believe me. I said “bet” (at least in my head - that many years ago “bet” wasn’t a thing). A few seconds later, I was eating chicken pot pie which was the alternate meal.

I see what you did there… Double SDJ as suggested by Tom years ago. However, strongest is really subjective. IMHO, the strongest knot is the one you tie the most confidently and can tie the easiest/quickest without error.

Don’t know the age of the OP, but when you get old like @wdp and me, it’s easier to buy for yourself. What I normally do is buy what I want and have a few things “held back” on a list for the wife to buy for me. So, there’s a surprise on Xmas morning. She does the same. This year, I had a rod in the tube from TW under the tree. I fam home one day a couple weeks back from getting my haircut and my 19yr old son said “we don’t want any corp advertising for Xmas”. I am running sunline almight sinking braid on my setup. I’m running 0.6 (I believe) PE with a 6lb fluoro leader. I like it for the most part, but when it’s time to change, I’m going with something different. The almight is pretty “fragile”.

My son, who lives in Burbank, is back in Alabama for the holidays. He and I went fishing this am just to get out of the house. He was reeling in and noticed it was getting heavy. So, by the time we got it to the bank, we realized we had caught a freshwater mussel. Ok, weird things happen, you snag something, sure…however, you’ll see by the pic below that this mussel had actually “swallowed” the grass piece. I know it’s not intentional as they’re filter feeders, but this dude was clamped tight! Had to use my pliers to pry open the shell. Almost had to go get a knife to cut the abductor muscle just to open it and get my grass piece back. For size reference, that’s a 5/8 oz grass piece flex with a 4.5” spunk shad trailer. Also, my hands are “normal” sized.

I’ve not used JLS. I know @bulldog1935 has used Zen Market before, which is just a proxy shopper. Check with him?

@Eric 26 - I am so sorry to hear about Steve brother! I know what you are going through. We had G auquamated (not sure if that’s even the right term for aquamation) and her remains are on the mantle in the living room. See her every time I turn the tv on. Steve will be missed for sure, but you’ll see him again across the rainbow bridge my friend!

I just realized that I might have a couple of the last jigs that Tom tied since he was my secret Santa. I was beyond excited to see that return address of Tom’s on my package as I knew he would throw some of his hand tied goodness in there! I am beyond humbled now knowing these could have been some of the last he tied…

Just got my order from digitaka. Would have had it here before Christmas, but it sat in Memphis for an extra day for whatever reason. Pretty stoked. About to spool it up, put it on the new zodias and ride across the street to the middle school and cast on the practice field..

Don’t order through Bass Pro. Get a JDM zillion. Will save you money. Just my 2 cents…
