  1. If you’re shallow and you know it clap your hands @TnRiver46 if city island does their fire works again I would like to take my boat out on the river and watch them from the boat.
  2. I did an early morning trip to the susky. Launched from city island July 4. Had a slow day got a few on trip water and cranks . Since I have been having luck on this stretch I went back again on the 5th. Well the river finally won and I skunked out this year. When the water gets low clear and hot I aways struggle. With no rain in sight I am probably going to be focusing on lakes. i did get to watch the police search for a gun that was thrown into the river when the was issues the night before and had to cancel he fireworks show there.
  3. Happy Birthday America! Stay safe, party hard and enjoy freedom!
  4. I wouldn’t care at all. I’m not in fishing for recognition or bragging rights. I’d take some pics release it and be on my way.
  5. You are better off with some kind of steel wire than heavier FC. You won’t lose as much action on baits. That is why musky guys tend to switch to wire for smaller bass like baits. Action>than a visible leader. At least in most cases.
  6. Best? Bite detection. I think one thing that the River really teaches is that. With the current and things moving around so much you need it. Now do not get me wrong I will lay the hook into stuff because I am not going to take the chance it’s not a fish. Even when I’m 90% sure it’s a snag. worst? I do not think I move on to a new area fast enough. I am way to guilty of “fishing history”
  7. Wether anyone agrees with it or not it’s legal as of now. I can’t complain about them using it no matter what I think about it. They all have the option to drop another 40k into there boats to deck it out. Just like I have the option to not use it.
  8. I do not like FFS but, I am confused at how watching them fish that way is more boring than watching them fish traditionally. I like seeing the catch but, watching anyone fish is kind of boring.
  9. @flyfisherWhere the bass masters is I almost never fish that long stretch. It’s starting a little below wilkesbarre to basically where the juniata river feeds in. I’m not sure where on the west branch they can put in at. It may be super low by then.
  10. @12poundbass yeah seems like they are just scum all around. @Motoboss I think that was a boat they had won.
  11. I got a late start due to some mandatory Saturday overtime at work. I got in the water around 11am. I launched out of city island where and the river is running 3.7/8. I wanted to run up stream to some islands on my way up on plane I started going over extremely shallow weed beds. Having a jet this could be problematic. I turned around and cut back another way. I ended up finding no fish up in the shallow weeds. I decided to just float down stream and cover water since I know this time of year the bass really spread out. i did end up running into some pockets of bass. Sadly it was later on in my day with possible severe thunderstorms I wanted to make sure I was off the water safety. I ended up getting off the water around 2. My dad and I did end up bumping into some kayak guys who were from NC. I know people come from out of state to the susky so it is cool when I do bump into them. Their comment was about it was “boy it’s shallow”
  12. @TnRiver46 A few years ago no fans wanted anything to do with the panthers because they were terrible. The team went through a rebuild. My comment was directed at the players themselves. It’s not like the panther players are only or mostly from FL. In fact I am willing to bet there is no player from FL on that team. This is why I said the state location has nothing to do with the team doing well. 1993 was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley cup.
  13. @Sethshaun here unless it’s electric only you can powerload. I would def make sure that is legal for you. I do not know why jt wouldn’t be.
  14. A different stretch of the river I run.
  15. @Sethshaun May I ask why you do not power load it with the big motor? Is the lake electric only? Power loading is much easier than doing it with the trolling motor. when I fished electric only lakes in PA I would put the trolling motor on about 4 or 5. I’d actually try to keep the trolling motor in the water as long as possible. I would sink the trailer deeper so I could even have the trolling motor manually pulled up higher than it should be to keep my momentum going forward. The reason you lose course is because pulling the trolling motor out of the water is making drag and directs you that way. Also you have to learn to play the wind and set up to try and catch it just right. This is honestly the hardest way to load a boat.
  16. I have a 18’ ccj tunnel hull G3 (jet) I can put this boat just about anywhere I need to with the TM it’s not as much of a boat design as it is learning YOUR BOAT and how to handle the trolling motor. jets never track straight unless they are on plane. I do not have this luxury but you can turn your big motor if need be to act as a rudder to control help spin.
  17. @Woody B oh I know you weren’t knocking it. I am agreeing they are good boats for what they are and serve many people well.
  18. I do this in flasher mode shhhhhh
  19. @Further North I fished along side a guy who swore by little stuff. At the end of the season we were about the same numbers wise. On the water together I usually had the edge.
  20. @gimruis I even did this with tigers. @Further North I know people here swear by small baits to. For me it’s rarely worked. I’ve ever been bass fishing a Ned. Stopped put on a dussa and bagged three skis in 45 minutes didn’t even change where I was.
  21. @Further North that always puzzles me when people say it. I even dedicated a year to throwing 6” and less basically bass style musky baits with no luck. Even in waste deep creeks. The big baits just work for me. Went back to mag dawgs reg dawgs, dussas and various 8” and up hard baits and had much more success.
  22. 1. Do as I say not as I do. It’s my boat to ruin and trash if I choose. 1.2 My dog comes first when he’s with. 2. Do not throw stuff overboard. If you reel in trash put it in a grocery bag to throw away later. 3.Sit in the seat I tell you to. I need you there to balance the boat 4.Do not be a jerk to others. if I feel like there is an issue I will address it. 5. We are out to have fun. Do so. 6. I have a routine with launching and loading. Unless I ask please do not help. That’s how things get forgotten.
  23. Stay safe guys. The back end of my development can flood bad. Those houses weren’t even built with basements in them. I couldn’t fathom losing everything.
