  1. Never heard of this place but got a Facebook add 25% off https://www.baits.com
  2. Ok I see the haul thing now I have never even noticed that. Is it the same for everyone or different? I don’t see that 50% back on mine.
  3. I like my cashion element z2 frog rod. It’s a 7’3 heavy fast but can still cast frogs very far with a Daiwa silver wolf(zillion spool). It had enough tip to cast them but enough power to get them out of cover.
  4. Did they come up on your page or did you search for those items? I’ve been checking the last few days haven’t found any deals like that on Amazon just regular stuff like 20-30% off
  5. The dobyns are good but it’s hard now that their prices went up. Try to catch them on sale. The cashion element z2 is a good deal for the price still, same with the falcon lowrider. Jdm is 100% worth it for reels. I’m not sure what the current exchange rate looks like but a tatula/ zillion or metanium/scorpion will be much cheaper that way compared to buying here. Check digitaka.
  6. I fished it on a belly weighted swimbait hook 1/8 ounce for two trips and haven’t got a single bite. It also got snagged very dry easily around cover. I will keep trying it though.
  7. Yeah, I don’t know what else I would buy to get there. That is a great deal, but when you add in $9 shipping it is basically 5 bucks a piece and at that point I would only want 1 or 2 of them
  8. Dang wish my dicks still sold fishing gear… I would definitely pick up the popping perches
  9. Another great day of fishing, even though you were left 3 shy of your goal. Still you have plenty of time to catch three fish which shouldn’t be a problem for you. Those are some nice looking bass in a good looking pond
  10. Out of the rods I’ve tried the most versatile is the dobyns Kaden 714 heavy fast. It is a heavy fast but closer to a mh. I have thrown 1/8 ounce Texas rigs all the way to a 6 inch magdraft or 1/2 ounce bladed jig/jig. It is a true fast but still very versatile. I have heard the sierra is a little bit more moderate than the kaden, so it may be even more versatile in a 734/704. For the reels, curado would be fine for lighter and heavier stuff and I would choose the 150 over the 200 unless you really need the extra line, but most likely you don’t. It palms much better and is lighter. To me, a Daiwa is slightly more versatile even than the curado 150. The curado can throw light stuff well and skip well, but I just feel more comfortable and it is way easier to do it on a Daiwa tatula/zillion for my experience. To make the decision harder, have you looked into jdm yet?
  11. Caught 2 of these 2 pounders in my neighborhood lake on Friday night. It was slow until about 8 pm I had 5 fish. Went out Saturday morning on a deep clear reservoir and managed 2 decent fish, although this lake holds bigger they are very hard for me to catch personally on my kayak with no electronic and limited time on the lake.
  12. I feel like for the price of the metanium, it is a little sloppy. I love my reel and it casts great and is super smooth and compact. But my 20 met from Japan came new with both knobs needing shimmed, one of them was not even fixed with shims to take the play out. The handle rocks back and forth, inside and out. That is on all Shimano reels I’ve ever had. My Daiwa zillion came with no play in the knobs or handle without changing anything. That being said, the met is still super nice.
  13. Thanks. I think the bluegill are still spawning. I caught a few fish around bluegill beds the past month in my neighborhood lake. It is smaller though and I believe that allowed it to warm up a little faster. I did go out on this reservoir and found bluegill beds up in the shallow part of the lake. If they were spawning about A month ago will the bluegill still be spawning you think?
  14. Hey guys, Over the past almost two years now I have been kayak fishing. I have had lots of good memories and success, but I want to ask for your advice for my next fishing trip. I am planning on taking my kayak out on Ni River reservoir, which is shallow and has lots of pads up the river. The other cover is mainly trees along some of the shore and a few lay downs. This is a shallow fishery, which is why I generally take my kayak here opposed to the deeper reservoirs which I find harder to catch fish at. I am going to leave a link to the depth map, but what would be your game plan for going out from sunrise until 12? Where would you start, what techniques would you use? I normally launch my kayak directly across from the highlighted area and can catch a few there. To launch near the dam I have to pay. Thank you for reading, Bryce https://www.gpsnauticalcharts.com/main/nautical-chart/us_aa_va_ni_river_reservoir_va-ni-river-reservoir-nautical-chart.html
  15. Everything in fishing is a work in progress. Always experimenting with new stuff.
  16. What brand and specific model do you guys like for chatterbaits? What line are you using?
  17. I am trying the kastking tripolymer line. So far after using it once it casts really well and seems to not have bad memory. We will see over time how it does. The 17 pound I got has a 12 pound diameter, so we will see how strong it is
  18. Thanks. The 7’2 is what I would want them, but not in stock. At least I learned something. A guy on Facebook does have the 7’3 mh for $100 so I may still try that.
  19. thanks for the information. I still feel like the models kind of need explanation. The website hardly has any info. What is the difference between the 7’2 and 7’3 mh mf?
  20. Hey guys, Has anyone used one of these rods before? I see sheels has them at $100 off, and some guy on Facebook has one listed for $80 in the 7’3 mh mf. Found it a little weird that the models weren’t really explained on the website or given an action. I have been looking for a longer mh mf rod so this could be a good deal for me. Thanks, Bryce
  21. I’m fishing with it right now, it would be good up to a quarter ounce for drop shot for sure. It is rated up to 7/16 ounce
  22. Thanks for sharing. I will update the forum when I make any additions to my setup.
  23. @bulldog1935 Maybe Ron would know, I’m not sure.
  24. I live in Spotsylvania. Good luck out there catch some fish.
