it's a myth that all waters in the south are loaded with wood and lily pads, etc. ... where i fish time has taken its toll on cover such as wood and there are not very many spots of lily pads ... used to throw a spinnerbait a lot ... not near as much now ... now whether fishing the bank or boat must find some structure and throw soft plastics t-rigged ... or be near a good spot in the morning for the morning feed or from the dam for the evening feed ... the pre spawn and spawn of course calls for different tactics ... good fishing ...

Not in the least. I posted a youtube video about "spotted bass and a canoe" about a week ago because it plainly shows bass fishing is so much more than a big bass boat and pro style fishing or a quest for a double digit bass. Granted, that's a big part and very important part of the sport. But there are many like me who fish mostly private small waters, creeks and state, federal fisheries and parks that only allow boats with no outboards. Some of the most memorable fishing trips have been on these small waters ... and the challenges they pose ... good fishing ...

many years ago someone on a site like this, bill dance in the day, posted an article from a guide from the stick marsh in florida ... setting aside recommended equipment, he wrote pick up a chug bug, especially the 1/4 oz., and use a fast retrieve cadence chug bug ... let it rest ... chug bug ... let it rest ... the best i've ever used ... strikes can scare you ... good fishing ...

was in an academy yesterday to pick up some zoom trick worms ... had some time to kill ... wandered over to the demo rack of at least 20 maybe 30 reels of various prices ... lews, abu, h20, pflueger, and 13 fishing had some "budget" reels ... they were all smooth as silk ... there's no doubt today's budget reels have come a long way from the baitcasters i was using 20 years ago ... good fishing ...

depending on the weather ... i'm on the little pond at least 3 times a week with an hour or more of fishing ... i'm retired with time to burn ... this is not my only fishing ... but would not hesitate to use it on some of the bigger waters i fish if needed ... has performed well ... good drag ... smooth crank ... crisp bail ... and casts great with mono and braid ... good fishing ...
