Lures you want to bring back?

Featured Replies

What are the lures you can no longer buy that you would love to make a comeback?

I used to love throwing the Heddon Mud Bug, but honestly I don't think I actually caught that many fish on them.

  • How about bringing back Rapala crankbaits that cost less than $5

  • That one was a solid producer for me early one and currently sits in my own personal Lure Hall of Fame.    A-Jay

  • Probably going for the low hanging fruit here but Uncle Josh's pork trailers.

The River Runt in the smaller size. Just a great crank for river fishing, or anywhere.

Renegade 4inch curly tail worms at Wal Mart...I have plenty of other options but these are very nostalgic for me

I still have a few and have caught numerous bass 5 to 8 lbs with them in early  prespawn conditions . For some reason they havent worked very well for me at other times .

I'd like to see  Manns bring back the 6 inch jelly worm . My number 1 bait of all time . ASlso the Rogers Big Jim in the smaller size . My number 1 squarebill ever .

I don't throw the mudbug any more been replaced by the Spro Rock Crawler.

The other oldie producer for me was The Hellbender ~

I thought that little spinner on the back was 'Magic".

Big 'floater' that one so it required a commitment to get & keep deep.

Great on the troll though.

There aren't really any that I'm falling over myself to scrounge for them on eBay or anything...But there's a handful of baits that are or used to be productive for me that I would pick up if they were readily available at normal retail prices...

UJ Pork

Rebel Deep Wee-R

Lucky Craft Redemption Spinnerbaits

Havoc Devil Spear

Yum Wooly Bully

Jackall Bling

WEC/Zoom Cranks - Would be nice to have some backups to the ones I like without paying the crazy prices right now.

Probably a couple more I can't remember too.

Arbogast Mudbug

Arbogast Sputterfuss

Heddon Dying Flutter

Humper(I can't remember the company name. Basically a Cotton Cordell Big O knock off.)

Mann's Stingray grub

Rapala Countdown Jointed minnow(Lost my last one last season.)

I have an old Bass Boss tackle box full of Tom Mann baits:  the hackleback series, the pig and hawg cranks, jelly worms, etc.  I wish those were still produced.

The Spence Scout crankbait with the dual line tie...deep or shallow.  I do even know who made it it has been so long.

Rebel Deep wee R , but make them so the hooks can't catch each other.  Original Bomber,  orange, with black herringbone.

I also would like to see the Rebel Deep Wee R come back and the original Rapala Rattling Fat Rap. These were two of the best crankbaits I ever had years ago.

7” Optimum A.C. Mag Shad (‘cause I’d like to retire it) and the original Black Dog Baits Shellcracker

Oh boy let's see;

Paca toad sr. [Netbait]

Flappin' dad [zetabait?]

Cattapillar worms [bps]

Not a lure but a color, snagproof phatfrog in  o.g. green.

Blakemore CC spinnerbait in 1/2 oz.

Pretty sure they still make Mann's stingrays grubs

Mister Twister used to make a tube that had a lizard (or goby?) head. I don't remember the name of them but I still have a few being held together by Mend-It.

Also, bring back DTs in gold.
