I've only caught one bass a little over 8 lbs ... a few over 6 and 7 lbs ... and plenty of the rest ... my equipment is not the most expensive but it's not junk either ... fish mostly state public waters and on occasion some private property ... all of my biggest bass came out of stocked private waters I have permission to fish on occasion ... no doubt in my mind fishing pressure on state, county and city waters open to the public is much tougher ... and expensive equipment doesn't give you much of an advantage ... good fishing ...

Add your light spinning with light line and you're good to go ... i've done this ... sometimes the bass will join in ... good fishing ...

I find when I fish in a jon boat it is easier for me to use a 6 ft. med. and med. heavy ... spinning and casting rods ... carry a 5'6" for tight zones .... but also have a 6'6" on board ... on big open water the 7 ft. is the go to rod ... can remember about 20 s yrs. ago when the 6 foot rod was the most popular ... good fishing ...

got 'em both ... my mileage ... bandit for small waters such as small ponds and smaller ... baby minus 1 for larger waters ... both perform well .. use 'em both .. good fishing ...

my experience with a situation like this is to move on and be polite ... the last thing I want is something confrontational while out fishing that could get ugly and possibly result in an assault or battery charge ... it does happen ... good fishing ...

on spinning straight braid with a shallow spool ... bait caster mono all the way ... good fishing ...

If you have access or can find a spot, try to find some small creeks with moving water you can wade in ... I bring a short rod/s medium/fast no bigger than 6 ft. to get around easily. Small worms, spinners and top water have worked well for me -- spinning and bait casting... bass usually not big where I go ... a 3 pounder is a monster and rare ...but fun and aggressive ... Be careful if you do ... some creeks have strong currents and holes ... good fishing ...

I keep things in perspective when i read about some big name pros who on occasion will fish all day in a tournament and not even get a strike ... good fishing ...
