I really like the Gamakatsu G Finesse Hybrid Worm hook. Senior basser looking for an advantage to hooksets with soft plastics including Trick worms.

Learned to look at spinning applications as using a tool for the job. Remember many years ago reading and applying Legend Guido Hibdon's thoughts on using spinning gear with small plastics resulting in more action and bites accepting that there will be break offs with some bigger bass. But with practice you can improve your odds to land more bass. I prefer the baitcaster but if I believe circumstances indicate finesse fishing is appropriate, I'll pick up my spinning rod with no hesitation.

Used to post here. Got the golf bug and put my bass fishing away a few years ago. Going to get back into some bass fishing once it gets cooler. Getting the bug again. I'm old school and want a good worm rod. Senior basser looking for excellent performance and feel with latest technology. Will spend 100.00 to 150.00 American dollars. Thank You.

I golf too ... retired ... don't make what I used to ... but when I did I bought golf clubs that were and are clones for half the price ... don't miss a beat ... company I buy from around 20 yrs. or so ... fishing is the same for me ... I like to get deals and save money ... and have always enjoyed the sport with what I use ... if you spend more and that floats your boat that's OK by me ... good fishing ...

Kast King is now offered by Academy and Tackle Warehouse. They've come a long way ... good fishing ...

One of the latest Game&Fish (April) magazine give it high marks vs. more expensive rods ... never used one nor looking for another rod ... good fishing ...

I only have access to LMB and Spotted Bass when I fish small creeks by foot ... I only use 5'6" and 6' rods spinning and casting ... lots of trees ... will sometimes use longer rods and UL in open areas ... good fishing ...

A few years ago I bought (50 dollars) a KK Perigee II 3 piece 7'rod. The rod comes with 2 tips med. and med. heavy. I couldn't ask for a more enjoyable and functional rod. Strong and sensitive. And is a multi species rod that can be used for light salt water which I do fish on occasion ... Good fishing ...

downsize ... soft plastics ... finesse worms and others ... 8 pound test with spinning gear ... presentations fast and slow and in between ... experiment .. fish a couple of State lakes with lots of pressure ... good fishing ...

I own the KK Royale Legend Elite Red 8:1:1 ... have had no problems with it ... like the 34" IPT ... granted, I don't tournament fish or pound the reel day in and day out but it has had some use ... Academy is a good outfit ... if they offer it ... they will back it up ... Good Fishing ...

Sunrise in my neck of the woods ... approximately 6 AM ... fishing by 630 AM ... quit no later than 11 AM ... right now the temp at 11 AM 92 degrees with a heat index of 104 degrees ... get heat advisories ... Fish mostly with plastic worms, top water baits and spinner baits on mostly small waters from the bank and in a jon boat ... good fishing ...

Zoom is my favorite plastic worm ... still ... I do bring along Berkley Power worms ... Good Fishing ...

My store carries the 2 above and G Loomis rotating some other big brands in from time to time. They are not the complete lines but usually a couple of each brand. There is no doubt Academy, imho, is putting more and more emphasis on its H20 Xpress brand in rods and reels. I believe the rods are made by All Star and have a strong following in my neck of the woods ... Good fishing ...

I do a lot of bank fishing from an earthen dam with a lot of rip rap. On occasion the bass will congregate like a wolf pack and attack shad at a distance I can reach. I use: Good Fishing ...
