My dad was born in N. Ga. with a long list of ancestors. Joined the Navy at 17 and served on a ship in the Korean War. Married Mom and my sister and I were born. He worked for the old Amoco Oil company for 35 yrs. -- retired at 55. Started in a warehouse after the military. Had a higher up see him who asked if he'd like to get into sales. He accepted and ended up being one their best in buying and selling real estate. Took me fishing at an early age to many farm ponds where I learned how to fish. One of his fishing buddies who went to the Santee Cooper on a regular basis taught me how to bass fish. He was honest and direct. Gave me an exposure to Church every Sunday. He was tough and sometimes hard on me. Glad he was. I miss him.

I remember the days when the Shimano Green Curado B/C could be bought for 115.00 dollars. Today some reels going for 500.00 dollars and up. The Curado's in the above class caught a ton of quality bass -- no doubt about it. They were immensely popular.

I remember Guido Hibdon's Guido Bug and his teaching of spinning gear with light line and small lures. King of Finesse early 90's. Read his Bassmaster magazine articles. That was a great time for Bassmaster Mag. I look for my drag to be right and make up for some of my errors. Especially with spinning gear.

Doug Hannon, Bass Professor, stated he caught 90 percent of his 10 pound plus bass with a 7" straight-tail worm.

I use The Best Spinning Secrets clear floats and The Torpedo float with spinning gear on small ponds and lakes for a change of pace using various floating bugs including Bass Bugs which are bigger. Prefer the Torpedo float. Lots of fun and they do work.

I use the BPS Bionic Blade Med. Fast 7" 12 lb. test mono BPS Pro Qualifier B/C. Ratllin' Rapala 3/8 oz. I'm totally satisfied with the rod.

Today I caught a few with a weightless T-rigged Trick Worm Watermelon Red Flake on 8 lb. test 6'9" medium action rod spinning reel setup.

Never caught a LMB throwing a Moss Boss and I like the lure.

Me too. I don't fish nearly as much as did in the past. Fish now a couple of times a week using a lunar fishing calendar and looking for days with clouds, if possible, fishing about 3 hours sometimes a little longer. On foot. Short and sweet. Drive no longer than 45 minutes one way to some very scenic locations. Close to getting permission to fish a golf course pond under strict rules. Retired Senior Basser who knows his limitations.

I have owned the BPS ultra-light for many years. Use when on occasion at Desoto National Forest lakes. It's a 2 pc. 6 ft. rod. Works well with small bass and big blue gills. Fun. The ultra-light rod will allow you to throw small lures like the Rebel Teeny Wee craws and grasshoppers. The 6 ft. more leverage and casting distance. The 4'6" rod better in tight spots and accuracy. Believe the Lew's rod should perform well.

Pitiful. Jig Fishing. Pitching and Flipping fishing. Decent with spinning gear when pitching. Heavy cover fishing with frogs. Most, 80 percent, of my fishing is done on pressured, open water fishing where finesse fishing applications work better for me. How finesse is defined can be different from one to the other.

Respool. I use the above when I'm fishing riprap from the Dam and embankments while on foot. Sometimes use a line conditioner. The Best.

I watched a Bass Tournament a couple of weeks ago I believe was on ESPN on Lake Champlain. There were young Bass Pros catching mostly nice smallmouth bass in deep water using sonar to locate them. One of the commentators commented the young Pros were changing bass fishing because of their comfort and use of electronics in bass fishing. Things change.
