GY kreature bait
I just picked up a bag of these last week. I've caught one dink on them so far. How do you rig them? I t-rigged them with 1/8-1/4 oz and gone weightless. Do you use a jighead? Can't seem to get them to take it.

ROD STORAGE QUESTION
I leave my rods in my garage. I don't think it has any effect on them. It's not like they are in direct sunlight or out in the snow (not that we get any in TN). When I lived in NY I kept them in the garage and they were fine. If you are worried about the winter cold buy a rod sock to keep em warm. ;D

Spro Bronzeye frog. Throw it into the thickest grass you can find and haul bass.

Rebel Pop-R
try popping them with your rod tip pointed towards the sky.

Shimano crucial vs. Carrot stix
Oh well its all the same no matter where they are made

Shimano crucial vs. Carrot stix
They are made in Japan... As far as the components go on the carrot stix, yes the guides do look cheap, but they do a good job. And the hook keeper is in a weird spot but like I said earlier its growing on me.

Shimano crucial vs. Carrot stix
Ok since no one else owns both I guess I will be the first to answer. Yes I have both, a 7'3 MH Carrot Stix and 7' MH/mf crucial crankbait rod. I love the crucial, I can launch any crankbait big or small with it. It is a great rod, sensitive, and is very light. Bare in mind I have it paired with a curado 200d which some say is too heavy. And I can throw it all day without any problems or soreness. Now the Carrot Stix, is starting to grow on me. I use it as my worm and jig rod, and sometimes it doubles as a frog rod. My first impression was it was very light, but not as sensitive as I had heard (at least that was my belief). And not really any more sensitive than my st. croix premeire rod. Now I have switched to mono to braid I can really feel the difference. Now the lightest bites thump the carrot stix. It is kind of difficult to compare these to rod because they are two totally different animals. But I am gonna have to side with shimano on this one. I can't really tell a difference in weight between the curado/crucial and Core/carrot stix. Buy the crucial you won't regret it!

carp fishing middle TN
Tennessee Wildside did a show on flyfishing for carp at Cheatham lake. They said it was one of the better spots in Middle TN because it has quite a few shallow flats.

IF you had a choice....
I like the curado's but I would probably go with a chronarch or core.

St. Croix LT at Bass Pro
Man my truck would need to go into the shop when the rods I've been wanting to buy go on sale.

Cleaning Old Lures?
I was wading a river a couple months ago and found 3 different rapalas. They were all grimy* and dirty, and the hooks were rusted out. So I drenched them with KVD line and lure conditioner and scrubbed them down. I changed the hooks and they were good as new.

A rainy day of fishing still beats working
I went in to work this morning only to be sent home because they had to reschedule their move. Lucky me! Rain was in the forecast but I decided to give a try anyway. So I went to Williamsport fishing lakes around Columbia, TN. I got in a solid 3 hours before it started raining. I caught 5 dinks and a nice 3lber came unbuttoned at the boat on a firetiger dt-6 crankbait. I was pleased to say the least. I'm really starting to figure how to fish cranks correctly. Sorry no pics my phone died on the way to the lake.

What is the general concensus on the Quantum Accurist reel?
I have used my fair share of quantum reels in the past and they were all junk. I will never buy one again. I even had a quantum energy spinning reel fall completely apart on me while trout fishing. I mean I set the hook, the spool fell off the reel into the river and the handle broke in two pieces. I have since moved on to be a shimano enthusiast, and recommend any of their mid to higher end products. My best advice is save up and buy quality equipment.

Buy a shimano. A Citica can be had for less than $100.

G. Loomis Virgin
I almost bought that same rod from a guy off craigslist for $100, but I passed on it because it was a light crankbait rod. I needed something a little more stout for throwing large spinnerbaits. It would have been my first Loomis rod, but it wasn't what i needed. After handling it though, I think my next purchase may be an IMX or GLX.

Houston: The Natural has a problem ....
Oh man my gf would kill me if I had that much tackle. It's bad enough when I buy a new rod and reel (Shimano Core and carrot stix) and tell her it was only $50. If only she knew.

I found a guy on craigslist selling this rod for $100 is this a good deal? I think it is. Will the warranty still be good?

Baitcaster Reel
I suggest you try something a little heavier than a 1/4oz. 1/4oz is kind of light for a baitcaster especially if your new to it. It took me some time to learn to cast baits that small on my curado's. Try a 3/8 or 1/2 oz plug until you get the hang of it. Listen to Reel mech he knows what he is talking about.

Yo-Zuri
Yes! I bought three spools the other day (8,10,12#) Just spray 'em down with some KVD line and lure and it perform a lot better.

Falcon FTO jig box
I don't have any problems with bigger jigs (3/8 and up) but the smaller ones slide right out.

Falcon FTO jig box
Well lately I have been replacing the plastic boxes in my tackle bag with falcon boxes, and i really like them. Everything has a place and it stays there, except in the jig box. I can not keep my finesse jigs (bitsy bugs and what not) from falling out of the slot. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to keep them in the slot?
