Streak is going strong. On the 5th of this month, it will be 60 days in a row. Got him on a shaky head and zoom trick worm.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

@Dominat0r: You're like the mailman of fidelity fame: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

Except, this would be your tagline: "Neither hurricanes nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night keep this fisherman from the steady completion of his daily catch."

What's also cool about your streak is the great number of lures that you use. It would be cool to list them in the end.

Thank you Crick, I love my new tagline.....in fact, it will be my signature....

I will indeed be listing everything I used for this. I am hoping to keep it going through august, going a little farther than I planned.

Thank you for the support. Love seeing your catch and where you fish, absolutely beautiful where you are.

54 degrees when I launched and the wind out of the north might have made for slower fishing. I did catch an 18.5-incher and some Maine butterballs in my total of 19. I kept seeing a couple Great Blue Herons too. Glad you like your new tagline, @Dominat0r and happy too that you'll list your lures at the end of your streak! The 18.5-incher first:

Don't forget the astrological stuff, @Dominat0r. Everybody knows you can't catch fish if venus is in Gatorade.

A month ago I couldn’t make a cast anywhere in this pond without hooking weeds. Today, I almost couldn’t make a cast that DID hook some grass. Pretty thorough nuking job by the sprayers. Not many places to hide, so guessing many have abandoned the shorelines except for the juvenile “biters.” Bigger fish are probably pretty selective with their feeding times. Still managed 20 on Ned this afternoon, mostly concentrated on the one deep end of the pond. This size was pretty typical of catches today.

I haven’t been fishing the past few weeks as it’s been just too darned hot. It was this morning as well, but I went anyway. The pond has dropped over a foot since I last fished as we’ve gotten no rain and temps in the 100°s (it’s exactly 100° right now- feels like 108°). Was a pain to launch the boat. Fished until 1100 and caught three bass. One dink on a blue/black laminate Senko WR (no pic lol), one on an X Zone Adrenaline Craw in Summer Craw and the last on a #956 Senko TR that got smashed reeling it back to the boat.

Another really rainy day....started getting dark so I went out in the rain and got wet again haha....but I got my fish and I tossed my cloths in the dryer...

Fitting that 60 days will be at Headwaters, Going to try and keep it going, but 2 straight months has me really excited.

My fish/dink of the day.....off a junebug red speed worm. I am only going to pull 1 a day, give these little guys a rest. I stop once I get my fish of the day.

A bit too hot and sunny during the day, especially since we had very little wind, so waited until the last 2 hours of light before heading out. Fished half way around the pond without a bite before figuring out the trigger(s). After that, I was able to catch 8 bass before finishing the complete circuit. Ned scores again.

Again, your consistency dazzles me. Do you ever have one-bass days? Or get skunked? I've avoided being skunked this year, but just barely with four or five one-bass days. The first bass looks hefty.

Tried out a new lake yesterday.  Moderate wind and a lot of the lake was inundated with thick grass making getting around (canoe fisherman with trolling motor) a nightmare and I tripped the circuit breaker a couple times just trying to get from point A to point B.

I did get on a nice drift along the west side of an island about an hour and a half after sunrise and got this guy on a black buzzbait.  Got two more bites but I’ll blame a poor hookset on my end for not landing them.  Ended up calling the day early due to the conditions.

Free tournament my buddy put on this morning for a few of us. He said he’d have a small prize for the winner.

I won with 14lb bag, 5.3lb big bass.

It happens, but fortunately pretty rare. According to my logs for this year, I catch fish 97-98% of the time. That’s based on ~125+ trips so far this year. Those trips are often short and under the worst conditions “just to see if I can catch one.” One fish trips are also rare, maybe a time or two all year. I’ll have to check my averages, but about 12-15 bass a trip is a close average across all those trips.

Update: @ol'crickety Just got home and pulled the numbers and ran some stats on them from this year. I have had 3 trips of just one bass, which is about 2% of my total trips, about the same as the blanks for this year. As for the rest;

1-9 bass: 30% of trips

10-19 bass: 44% of trips

20-29 bass: 18% of trips

30-39 bass: 6% of trips

40+ bass: 2% of trips

My average is 15 bass per trip, and my median is 14, so the distribution is pretty good.

The tungsten worm weight ALREADY has a hole in it for installation?  Man, you can't go wrong with that.  I get sick of drilling them.

Starting to wonder how many 3+ lbs fish can be in a body of water smaller than some people’s back yard.

Could be quite a few, especially if you don’t catch many small bass, or might only be one or two that you keep catching over and over ? true story. Start looking at your catch pics really close trying to find identical markings or defects/anomalies.

The first was 3.5 lbs and the other was 3.42 lbs so pretty close.

They were caught at different spots on the same end of the pond.  Makes ya think ?

Got on more sandies, a channel cat, and a few little spotted bass, all throwing up shads. Bite went from 6am to 8am before everything was too deep to reach. Blanked the last couple days, felt nice to get bites. It's hot and the lake levels are dropping. Boo. Come on, autumn. Drop that mercury already

Totally possible it could be either scenario - lol. I just know I’ve caught the same 4-5 lb. bass now at least 14 times over a 4 year period from one specific small pond. Catch and immediate release works :thumbsup_blue:

On the report side, I’m not going to lie. The first trip after @ol'crickety asked about blanking and one fish catches, I was a bit nervous when I first got out on the water. I was happy when I finally caught that first fish, and even happier when I caught the second ? All the pressure being off after that, I went on to catch 8 this evening running the same timing, bait and location as last night. High was 90 today, and forecasted for 91 tomorrow, so any trip I get in might be an evening one again.

No need to everworry, @Team9nine, for you're the guy who could catch bass while casting from a tornado.

@thediscochef, nice fishes. Our mercury dropped a tad, high temp was 74 yesterday. Wish we could send that your way!

I've got 108 in the forecast all weekend, low of 84. Dangerous to be out past 10:30, pointless to be out past 9:30. I'd take 95 just fine right now lol

@thediscochef yeah man, been sick of the heat. I will probably night fish tomorrow night.

Random comment, just poking around on Navionics, I happened to see that the 5lber I caught a few weeks ago was not on a random point. There is a channel swing that runs into the side of the point. There's shell there too.
