The stripers in Anna pretty much run away from outboards and my dad needs to take our boat to Anna soon before we go to the beach and I was just seeing if there was any chance of using it to catch stripers. They don't like the 2 stroke sound effects haha

We usually do use the outboard but we were experimenting to see if it really matters if you use the outboard or not. If you have the baits behind the boat far enough it really doesn't matter what motor you use. So you will probably be able to catch some. Put your baits out in an area that you were marking fish and run the baits through them. What baits do you normally use?

Caught several large blue gills on Shasta in the past.  Not sure the exact species, but these are a few of the nicer ones.

My little brother caught one trolling a Manns stretch 15 from our boat in anna, and we have caught some nice ones on DD 22s, SK 6XD, and the bomber fat free shad that go 20+ trolling them from our kayaks. Down by the dike we troll jerkbaits and alabama rigs from our kayaks.

 

I would probably just troll a couple heavy a-rigs and a  couple deep diving crankbaits from our boat

I have noticed that the stripers strike crankbaits with a very slender baitfish profile more than cranks with a short and fat body. I also like to use a double rig with a redfin and a bucktail jig . I have an A-rig but have not had any luc with it.

I swear it was bigger than it looks..

Catching one of these guys is a pretty rare deal for me. Catching 3 in one day, and one while I was burning a Bull Shad, is unreal.

 

Well it wasnt my catch, but my Father landed this beauty on my 21st birthday.  42 inch 29 lbs lingcod.

I was on a role Friday. Missed probably a half dozen more, all on my homemade bladed jigs.

 

The bass were not cooperating so we made some makeshift crappie jigs with a piece of a trick worm on a 1/8oz swimbait head, and fished them on baitcasters with 12lb line. We would pitch the baits into laydowns and the line would jump on the fall, just like bass, it was crazy 

That's a nice mess of sweet, finger licking, deep fried, Goodness Right There ~

The fridge at my house is pretty empty since we are going to the beach soon and don't want to leave anything behind that will spoil, so we just go catch lunch!
