dgkasper58
Nice some thick ones. Care to share your water temps? Hopefully, this weather will warm up the water a few degrees and it will be on! 1

Super User TOXIC Posted June 24, 2020 Super User Share Posted June 24, 2020 I snuck up the end of May to the big pond. Of course the wind was 15 gusts to 30 straight out of the East so it was tough fishing but we managed a few.

Super User TOXIC Posted July 12, 2020 Super User Share Posted July 12, 2020 Naw, I’m still around. I’m moderating a couple of Facebook sites and it takes a lot of time. Our annual Michigan get together got canceled. First the house on Hansen’s became unavailable due to the high water, so we booked another on the mainland. Then the various COVID restrictions kept some our crew out of flying in without having to quarantine so we canceled that house as well. Heading back to Wisconsin for 2 weeks next month and have been fishing a lot here locally.
Super User A-Jay Posted August 3, 2020 Super User Share Posted August 3, 2020 July was a hot one. My limited success came shallow early and deep later A-Jay
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted August 9, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted August 9, 2020 We hit the water early this morning, nothing extravagant as far as big bass goes, a couple decent ones on a vibrating jig. 6poundbass was using my pitching setup, as he’s going to the back of the boat I hear a thud and “oh no!” I look back to see my pitching set up slowly disappearing from my life forever. We tried forever to try and snap it to no avail. The bright side of things, I’ve fished this lake for 12 or so years and we saw something I’ve never seen on this lake and never seen in the wild. We heard a funny noise and saw movement around the lillypads and thought a beaver, then it popped itself out of the water about 12 inches and realized it was an otter! We saw it 2 other times within a half hour, that was pretty cool to see and totally unexpected.
dgkasper58
How is the fishing up there? I was planning on heading back up there this weekend. Haven't been up since the dog days of summer. Are the cool nights bringing water temp down? What ya catching em on? TIA
Super User A-Jay Posted August 28, 2020 Super User Share Posted August 28, 2020 The lakes I fish (all north of Rt 72) are definitely cooling off. Weeds are starting to die back as well. Seems much of the local brown bass population is still is that tricky transition stage. Shorter days and more cool nights should speed that fall bite along soon enough though. And who's not a fan of that ? A-Jay

dgkasper58
Well a tough few fishing days for me. Ended up with way too many follows (with few strikes) on reaction baits and only really got into a groove flipping/pitching after the storm last night. Super User gimruis Posted September 11, 2020 Super User Share Posted September 11, 2020 Which one are you? A bridge troll, snow lover, or an elk herder?
Super User MN Fisher Posted September 11, 2020 Super User Share Posted September 11, 2020 He pretends to be an elk herder, but really he's a misplaced Yooper.

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted September 12, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted September 12, 2020 Change of plans, was going to fish tonight but realized yesterday, tomorrow is the youth hunt. Scouted deer, to bed early tonight, early rise, and hopefully a deer come morning. I would love to cook some back straps by the end of the weekend. We’ll be back to fishing next weekend.
TheBasslayer
I like the lake that my grandma lives near. I caught my 4 1/2 pound pb there! And while I hope to try ice fishing soon, I am already sick of the super thin ice in my fishing spots!
TheBasslayer
I have been bass fishing a little bit, but after January 31st, I realized that in winter, the Brown Trout still bite! Now Spring, Summer, and Early Fall are for Bass, and Late Fall/Winter/Early Spring are for Trout. Winter Bass fishing in Michigan isn't too good for me. And no, I didn't get to ice fish . Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 7, 2021 Global Moderator Share Posted April 7, 2021 The bass are biting. 6poundbass caught this big girl last night off our dock.
TheBasslayer
I cannot login on my phone, so posting pictures is hard for me. I would post my first bass and bluegill of 2021 though.
Super User MIbassyaker Posted April 7, 2021 Super User Share Posted April 7, 2021 Ok. My first bass of 2021 is not......ahh.....not exactly a giant, but I was happy when it bit my keitech on my 3rd cast of the year: 5 little guys all that size from the riverbank last Friday afternoon. It's probably going to be a couple weeks yet before I can get the kayak out actually on any water, but might sneak a couple more short bank excursions in until then.
