BPS just started a nice sale.   The ProQualifier 2 is on sale for $75, down from $100.  Numerous baits are also on sale.  I had a ProQualifier for three years some time ago and they are really incredible little reels.  Mine did duty for frog fishing with 50lb Sufix 832 braid and never failed a hint.  I maintained it myself and thought it was very well built.  It got traded in at the spring classic sale  for $50 allowance with gift cards for a Chronarch MGL, but there was nothing wrong with it all.  I picked mine up on one of these mark downs for $80.

Thanks!  Just ordered two Spinnerbait Specials.  I have wanted that rod for a while so hopefully they are nice.

Thanks, I think;) Got 3 110s ordered and 2 1/2 ounce traps on clearance for 27.94. Presale cost would have been 61.55, couldn't pass it up.

No problem, I was tempted to order a Spinnerbait Special too, but compromised with the Bait Monkey and kept it to a Diablo Spec-R.

 

Looks like a lot of the popular models have sold out already.

I did the same thing, but added a frog instead lol.  It will just be our little secret.  

Took a look and much to my wondering eyes......almost all BPS brand items! Wow, who woulda' thunk it??

 

All in jest, some decent deals. I just grow weary of the only main items being on sale at BPS is their in-house brands. I'm not knocking their quality, the PQ has a cult following, but c'mon guys, nearly the entire Black Friday and Spring Classic ad was house brands.

I bought a Perfect Pitch, due to the rave reviews, during the first run of sales. It's sitting in my rod rack, brand new, never used. I may list it in the Flea Market with some other gear that doesn't get used. I'm re-evaluating some of my gear to see which rods/reels will get used and which ones will most likely collect dust.

I got a Diablo Spec-R that is still in the tube brand new in my house from the last sale.  I am keeping it like that for now since I have so many other rods in my lineup.  I will do the same with one of these Spinnerbait Specials.  I plan on using one and having another on hand.  I have heard stellar reviews of both the Spec-R and the Spinnerbait rods.

Just seeing that part of my academy order shipped. Looks like the ship similar to DSG, partial packages instead of a full order. Just glad I was able to get in on the deal.

Yup. That's what happened to me. Part of my order came Monday and the rest today.

Got another Plopper, as if I needed more. And decided to give the Abu Revo SX a try. I've heard great things about the Gen 4 version of these.

 

I mostly have Tatulas and Curados, but have been wanting to try an Abu for a while now. So I bit the bullet.

Same thing happened to me, the 20% off was still going on Friday but when I placed my order on Sunday it was down to 10% and then like Monday or Tuesday it was back up to 20%. I called and said i felt I got screwed here and they issued me a coupon code for 20% off plus another 10% for a total of 30% off my next order. Try doing that.

Yeah, last Friday they had a 10% off everything online deal running which automatically applied to the cart.  The guns/ammo crowd (at least that's where I saw the mention of it 1st) realized that the website was allowing the 20% off code to stack on top of the default 10% for a 28% total, and would stack on top of markdowns. (except on firearms - but the 20% code would apply to firearms up to that point). There were so many orders flowing in that the system couldn't keep up, and Academy killed the 20% code for the remainder of the day.  When they re-activated the 20% code after the 10% deal ended, now firearms aren't eligible anymore.  

you can also save money by adding Ebates to your browser.  I wish I had done it years ago.  right now Dicks and Academy are 1.5% cash back; Ebay is 2%.  It's crazy how fast it adds up and I've gotten them as high as 8-10%.  They offer discounts on most major sites Bass Pro, Target, Lands End, Woot etc and deposit money in your paypal account.

 

Edit:  I also use Wikibuy and often you can activate both of them for the same purchase.  I buy BPS gift cards with the credit (not sure if you can get cash).

Dang....how much were the traps? I have 3 110's in the cart and with the code they come to $26.26
