That deal killed me.  I had $40 in rebates come back to me but forgot to cash them! Now they're void.

LOL....I was cleaning out my briefcase and found my rebates in the envelope ready to mail! Unfortunately it was a few months after the deadline! DOH!

I'm a victim of that rebate too. I got the packages immediately open them up and rearranged everything by combining some of the package. The next thing I know I tossed all the package without saving UPC to do the rebate. Stupid me lol.

The deal was actually through Berkley, and they had a special version of it specifically for Dicks/F&S stores.  Looking at Berkley's website right now, I don't see any rebate programs running.  I'm running low on powerworms in watermelon/red, would like to see one pop back up too.

You know, I kinda want to reclarify - If @Quarry Man was just asking about the 10 for $10 deal that Dicks ran, I dunno when that is coming back around.  When that deal was active on their website, all of the $10 rebate information was removed from those products descriptions.  It was folks like us that knew that the rebate could still be applied regardless of what we paid for the bait and waited until the 10 for $10 deal was active to really stock up.  How many times could it be submitted - like 4 individual times?

Yep, 4 per household.

When did that deal come around? I remember the 4 for $10 deal but not a 10 for $10!

I must've missed that in the last post.  I don't believe there was ever a 10 for $10 deal, it was 4 for $10 w/ the $10 rebate.

Yep - total brainfart on my part.  I could only wish for 10 for $10, right?

my local dsg has a clearance rack they just put together this week. The baits on the rack were discounted and buy 5 get 5 free. There were a lot of rapala sk and Gy baits. I bought 10 total crank baits (a few shad rap DT series and XD series) for right at $30 $3 a bait. The online seems a little slow right now. You might want to try your local dsg. The gut working there pulling lures off the racks said they were making room for new bait.

Me and buddy got 5 double buzz ploppers a piece on that deal. Came out to 5$ per lure.

If you are looking for a deal on inexpensive rods (and the previous generation products), you might find one at Dick's.

The seem to be selling off:

- blue Field and Stream Tech Spec Elite rods of all types and sizes ($25)

- Abu Veritas 2.0 rods ($35)

- Shimano Sellus (maybe $25?)

This is an in-store deal, and it is subject to the store having these rods available.  From what I understand, these particular rods are being cleared out of the stores where they remain.

If you luck out, and they have the rods in store, you might want to buy two and use a $10 off of $50+ from doing an online store rating, bringing your cost down below the rod price listed. With this scenario, you can walk out with two older F+S Tech Spec Elite rods for about $20-17* each.  If the order doesn't go up to $50, by a piece of tackle you need, or donate $1-2 to the DSG charity and you'll get the deal.

*(If by some wild chance you happen to have a store return, do it first before you check out because sometimes they provide a coupon for 15% off in-store purchases for the next 3 hours).

Might also want to combine a deal with the buy 5/get 5 lures deal that is still on (days are probably numbered on that deal and stocks may be picked over).

That an in-store deal you saw?  I don't even see Veritas 2.0's listed on their website

I believe it's in-store only. Their web site doesn't list any of those rods so they must be clearing them out...best head to your local DSG and get them before they're gone!!!

They are in-store deals. My DSG uses stickers (pink or yellow dot) to indicate sales on the rods. I got two of those blue elite tec spec rods for $19.99 each a few months ago.

Wish I saw the Veritas 2.0 rods.

Wish my store stocked them.

Kinda weird, my local store, has TONS of cheaper spinning rods/gear, but I hardly ever see anyone using spinning gear in my area (not counting serious anglers that have a finesse rig or 2 on the deck).  And a lot of super heavy catfish/gar rigs - they don't keep much bass rods in stock. Bait selection is pretty decent though. The Academy across town is much better in selection on everything, but doesn't run near the sales that Dicks does.

Yes, in store.  I've edited the first note.

DSG's often clear out different items from store to store, however, the pricing is typically the same (or is supposed to be).   For example, there was a time when some stores were blowing out Kietechs, others senkos, others none of the above.

However, these particular rods seem to be among the types being cleared out.  It makes sense considering there is now a new Veritas 3.0 and they no longer show the TSE house rods on the DSG site.

Note that they may use stickers or just put the reduced price on the label.  That practice also varies from store to store.  The prices at checkout probably won't.

In store the buy 5 get 5 free deal that has been going on.

if you really want a deal buy a pack of Z man Laminate Swimmerz.  i'll admit when i first got into swimbaits I bought Keitechs to gain confidence in the technique. but 4" sb are so effective i immediately moved on to try every and any brand.  in the end every brand tears so i settled on Z man b/c of the elaztech.  the tail has a perfect thump and you can catch 50-100 bass on one bait.  honestly i have them broken into two selections according to the jig hooks: standard vs extra stout.  the standard hooks are for bank fishing b/c i can usually bend them out when snagged and not lose my Z man.  the extra stout hooks are for kayak/boat bc i can troll over and use my lure retriever if snagged.  a girl once told me once you go elastech you never go back.

How do you get this 5 for 5 deal? I am not aware of it at my store.

It should be in the clearance section. The items are buy 5 get 5 free. I've seen the signs at all the DSG stores in VA.

@Dirtyeggroll all of the DSG's have had clearance tackle; buy 5 get 5 this month.  They typically reset and clear out in January.  The selection varies somewhat from store to store, but the same stuff, in general, is apt to be on sale.

Not that I could find at any of the 3 stores near me. All they had on ‘clearance’ were keitechs for $5.99 a pack. And labeled with a sticker color consistent with marked as priced.

Not all DSG have sales at the same time unfortunately. No idea why. Our local DSG had the 5 for 5 a week before everybody on here was reporting it a few weeks ago.

Anyone need a $10 off $40 for Cabela's? (instore or online), expires 2/28.
