Found another 90 Whopper Plopper last week while bank fishing. Not sure why they didn't just grab it, hung up in a bush right next to the bank in an area only bank fishermen can get to. Yellow head color, second one I have and I found both of them.

If I ever travel to Kansas, I am going to call you.  Not to go fishing, but to go lure looking.  The numbers of lures you find in a day will cover my hard bait purchases for a year or two.  ?

Yesterday , found a Rebel Excalibur Shad R .

My best one was a blue and chrome Sammy that I found hanging from a tree.  I used it for 3 years and caught my PB spotted bass with it, 4-12.  Finally lost it on a very windy day when the knot broke.

 

Found on the lake bottom in the shallows, can anyone ID this Spinnerbait?

Looks like a Northland Reedrunner with a replacement skirt.

When I'm out on the kayak, I'm constantly cleaning up after other people, miles of fishing line recovered so far I'm sure and I have quite the collection of cheap plastic bobbers but I'm always excited to find a lure at the end. Most of the time it's junk or something I don't want but sometimes I find good ones. Mostly I just hang the serviceable lures on a sign near the parking lot to brighten someone else's day when they find them. Best I found this year was a Booyeah Pad Crasher in a color I didn't have. That one went in my tackle box.

 

A good time to find lost lures is during a lake drawdown, when it's possible to walk on the lake floor.

Truthfully though, lures I stumble into always end up in the trashcan (Have more than I'll ever use in a lifetime).

Who can forget Avid's slogan: "So many lures, so little time".

 

A lake drawdown that permits foot traffic on the lake floor, offers anglers a far greater opportunity.

With a handheld GPS, you can quickly & accurately obtain waypoints of bottom structure (e.g. Garmin 78s).

Yep it's got to be as it has the same trailer hook, eye, head design, closed line tie, and colors.

I saw the picture and was like "well that looks really close to something by Northland". I think odds are good.

Quick bank fishing trip this morning, well partially. I'd spotted the plopper my last trip to this spot and had to come back with my lure retriever to get it. Had to wade into the water waist deep to get it, and once I was there I spotted the Chug Bug on the backside of some limbs also. Barely able to get it since it only had 2 hook points left on the front hook and nothing left on the back.

I have a tree in the front yard. Everything that I've recovered while fishing, from lures to anchors, marker buoys, rods/reels, is hung from the tree, no matter what condition it's in. I have lures hanging that don't have a mark on them. The only exception is the high end rod and reel I snagged. The rod was broken but held together by the line. The reel is in the tree, but i cleaned up the rod and sent it in for warranty. 

Saw this one in the tree early this spring but couldn't quite reach it in my johnboat. I was back in my Stratos today with a longer retriever and it was still there.

 

This was probably a nice spinnerbait back in its day, but I can guarantee the owner never caught a fish on it ?

Last Sunday I found a bomber 7a in red crawfish color. Needed hooks but otherwise it was in great condition.

Found this over the winter, the hooks were trashed, but the rest of the metal on it looked okay. Cleaned it up, threw a treble on it, and have yet to catch anything on it.

My swim jig found this last week on the Tittabawassee river attached to some really heavy braid.  Must be left over from spring walleye trolling. Hooks were fairly new and it’s missing an eye.  I can fix the eye issue.  Replace hooks and should be good to go.  I’m not really sure who makes it 

Found this lure two years  ago and this Saturday caught my second biggest fish yet.  Quality find IMO.

Rescued a Chug Bug last night  , dangling from a tree . Whoever lost this lure didnt even try to get it back .

I'm always amazed how many baits I find that are so easily recovered. I've even had Lucky Craft baits that reached up and plucked from trees like picking an apple. Maybe they were in the back seat and their boater didn't want to go back? Maybe they were having a bad day and just broke it off out of frustration? Not sure but I appreciate the ones that are easy recoveries.

On the other end of the spectrum, I sometimes find myself going through way too much trouble trying to retrieve a lure someone else has lost. Once I get started trying to retrieve one, I have a hard time making myself give up, even when it's a lure that I don't particularly want. There's a walking bait about 20' up in a tree that I've probably spent an hour trying to get, and I already have a bunch of walking baits that I never throw anymore. I just want to win the game!

 

Found a pair of bubba pliers lying next to the road today . Those things are over 40 dollars .
