Next time you're up at Table Rock, if you find this lure around the Aunts Creek area, put it away for me. I lost it several years ago and would like to get it back. It was my goto lure.

I'll be there next month, I'll keep my eyes open.

  • This was probably a nice spinnerbait back in its day, but I can guarantee the owner never caught a fish on it ?

  • Found 2 rods on shore this year at the creek. Seemed odd. I fished later than normal hoping the owner would come back, guarding the rods from would be thiefs. When nobody came for them I took them hom

Had a good lure finding day today.

It's kind of hard to see but I lost a lure to this fish then caught the fish again and got my lure back.

Is that a flying lure rig?

First decent lure I've found in a while. Check out the way it's rigged, and the way the braid is tied. There's like 3 knots there...?

Got a Bone 110 Plopper out of a tree 2 weeks ago, second plopper I've found in a month and either the 8th or 9th one I've found this year. Also got a PopR and LiveTarget Bait Ball squarebill out of trees last week.

I was fishing in a tournament earlier this year and caught a Perch colored Rapala Fat Rap FR5 on a Ned Rig.  It was in perfect condition, so I knew it couldn't have been down there that long.  Turns out it was a guy in my fishing club who lost it earlier that same day.

Saw some spawning Bluegill one day and decided to play with them. Tried 3 baits with no luck.

Then I remembered I'd found a tiny jighead caterpillar looking thing a few weeks earlier.

Tied it on and pulled in 8 gills and a bass with it.

Was actually my first sight-fishing for anything and all the gills I caught went right back to their beds upon release. Pretty cool.

My secret weapon, I throw 5 of them on a A-Rig that I pitch to laydowns.

The count so far is four crankbaits, two spinnerbaits, and a buzzbait that I had to use the telescopic lure retriever to get down.

Getting to be the time of year when the banks are cleaner and the trees are bare, good lure finding conditions. This morning was pretty decent.

Love those folks who fish up in the trees!

Now I want to make a helicopter lure A-rig just for the sheer ridiculousness of it!

I found both poppers, the jitterbug, and the spinnerbait all in the same tree. I like to call those "Jackpot trees".

Good haul.

I found a black jitterbug, a Spro swimbait in rainbow trout (a pond without rainbow), at Ponkapog, and two crankbaits at Blue Hills Reservoir.  I also pulled a white spinner off a tree branch on Cape Cod, though I don't remember which pond.

On two occasions I found lures I lost on earlier trips.  One was a perch blade bait I reeled up when I snagged a branch at Hedges.  I lost that bait the previous fall/winter.

The second was a bluegill flavored Rapala Skitter Walk I lost when a pickerel bit through my line at Ponkapog.  I found that one just off the launch in 3' of water.

I'm much better at losing baits than I am at finding them.....

This years additions.

Not pictured: One 20lb mushroom anchor, about 30 bobbers, and 2 stringers.

Walked a bank Thursday. Had a feeling it would be good being one of the only reservoirs that wasn't closed with the high water this year.

caught several rods, found many lures. best catch was an 800$ gloomis/stradic ci4 combo

best part was the guy who lost it claimed it after the tourney

Did you take the hooks off or were they all missing?

Most were missing but I take them off if they aren't because I put them in my pocket while I'm walking.

The only thing better than finding a lure is finding one that you know you will use a lot.

I found this swimbait and a Zara Spook jr. while out fishing yesterday.  I probably won't use the swimbait, but the Spook is in perfect condition and looks brand new.  It is the right size and color for my lake, so it is going to get a workout.

Note that whoever lost the swimbait apparently believes we have toothy critters swimming in our Southern California reservoirs.

I don't care how cold or deep the water was, I would be swimming for that combo if it fell off my boat!
