Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

  • After a couple of years of being used to make the new movie "TOP GUN-2" this F-18 E  has just arrived @ our facility in Jacksonville Fl. for rework, fresh paint and being returned to the active fleet.

I saw this shirt online a few days ago and saved it so I can get it for my dad for his birthday. Papa is what my boy decided to call him, and my dad loves it.

Yesterday morning it snowed here in Shreveport and actually stuck. That doesn't happen very often. It was nice although I'm ready for the cold weather to be gone so I can go fishing more often. Nobody around here wants to fish in this cold and I don't have a driver's license at the moment.

Here's a real oldie - Summer of 1963 at Charles L. Somers Wilderness Canoe Base on Moose Lake, 22 miles NE of Ely, MN.  This is the crew from my 2nd canoe trip to the Quetico in Ontario with my Explorer post.  We paddled 140 miles in 8 days.  One of the guys caught a northern pike right after he came off a portage that was big enough to feed the whole crew that night for dinner.  Landed it in a canoe with no net.

Saw something kind of rare for the middle of suburbia.  While at the back of a cove, I heard a group of coots scatter from the shore towards the water.  I turned around and saw a Golden Eagle pinning a coot to the ground.  Within moments, about 2 dozen crows appeared and started swooping & harassing the Eagle.  After a minute or so of that, the Eagle released the coot and took to the air.  As the stunned coot tried to get to his feet, the Eagle circled a few times with the crows still attempting to chase him away.  Finally the Eagle did leave the area, after which the coot limped to the water to join his buddies.

Pretty amazing for a non-country boy to watch.

It always cracks me up when I see these tiny little birds chasing after an eagle, hawk, or any other large predator bird. I have a 25 lb pug and she bullies my 120 lb great Pyrenees. I have to give the pug a spoon full of canned dog food so she'll let my great Pyrenees eat.

Growing up, we had neighbors who had 2 Great Danes and a Dachshund.  The big dogs names were Prince & Duke while the weiner dog was named King.  The names fit the personalities.

When you do your best to show a customer that you care and try to make them happy and she gives you this right before you leave it makes it all worth it!!

Last Saturday my son and my 2 grandkids(they're my girlfriend's grandkids but they call me Pawpaw) came up for my girlfriend's sister's memorial. It was great seeing them again. Hadn't seen them in a couple months. Wish it had been under happier circumstances and lasted longer. I'll see them again soon I hope. ?

First day on the job at Academy this morning in the training room. Waiting for a page to load on the computer I'm training on. Slow internet there...lol. Found out after work that I don't have to wear my hair in that stupid ponytail no more. Thank God, ponytails give me a headache...lol. ?
