Up here in Illinois I feel like I am living in the north pole.

 

Supposed to be in the 60's this time of year, yet we have had snow the last few weekends.

 

I got my hopes up because it is supposed to be around 70 the next 3 days. 

 

This weekend I am going to fish a charity tournament and the weather man just said there is a chance of SNOW.

 

Good grief I need to move to Texas.

36 and snow earlier in the week and supposed to be 82 Friday and Saturday here in Ol' Virginney.  Mother nature can't make up her mind.......and neither can the bass!!  

We left Illinois for a wonderful vacation in Jamaica and it was 55 when we left.  When we got home we got 4 inches of snow.  My big struggle is that I keep seeing these random days where the temp is going to be 60-70 degrees and I keep thinking I'll call in sick and go to the lake, but then I see that every single warm day has sustained winds of 30mph.  Just 3 or 4 more short years and we will be moving several states to the south....

The rain and forcasted 25mph NE wind with 45mph gusts should make that tourney most enjoyable. More snow Sunday night as well.

We've had the same here in Kansas. Seasonable weather Wednesday-Friday while I'm at work, then January like weather Saturday-Tuesday when I have a chance to do something. This week is a little different at least. The nice weather started on Tuesday and runs through Friday, but it's only supposed to be near freezing temps Saturday and Sunday and then still cold but at least creep up to the low 50's on Monday, which is my main fishing day. 

I can not effectively express just how tired of this unseasonably long hard water season I am.

At this point I'm firmly stuck in an eternal Limbo status - nothing to do but wait it out.

Oh and this just in - Blizzard this weekend ~ Calling for a foot of snow.

Guess I'll be waiting some more . . . . . . .

turnining out to be one of “those” springs.

This keeps up , I will not find any morel mushrooms .

Forecast for NE Colorado:  Today - 79° with wind over 20 mph by mid afternoon.  Thursday - 77° with about half as much wind.  Friday - 38° and snow.  Those of you to the east... it's headed your way.

Between the wind(!!!) and a couple bouts of a stomach bug, I'm not too happy with her either. And I usually like her just fine.

The weather here in SC has been spotty as well. Last weekend my son had a baseball tournament in Charleston, SC and Sunday morning game time was 38 degrees.

 

It's been mostly cold (40's and low 50's), gray, very windy, and wet around here for a while. I realize cold is relative to where you live and right now some of you would take low 50's and rain and wind.

 

On the few days we've had it sunny and mid 60's and low 70's there was a steady, strong wind all day. As luck would have it, today and tomorrow are beautiful days and I have to work. And the weekend looks like rain and thunderstorms. Wouldn't you know it - this is one of the few weekends we aren't traveling for baseball. I can't catch a break lately.

 

I just want one weekend of mild, sunny fishing weather. Before you know it, it's going to be 95 degrees and humid here.

Cold is relative but in south Texas (just south east of Houston be exact) the weather hasn't been great either. Had a "cold" front come in last weekend that put the temp in the 40s and left us with a 20 mph northern and a constant mist. Today is beautiful in the upper 70s but this weekend is supposed to be a repeat of last. Needless to say the fish and the fishermen aren't very happy down here ? I guess I should be happy it's not snowing, but still, it's bad for us warm loving Texans

SC is probably the best fishing in the country. I lived there till last year. In MD now. Horrible winter indeed

Evidently 2013 was pretty similar to this year but for some reason I don't remember us getting 17 inches of snow in April 2013.  The forecast here this weekend says Winter Storm Watch with the potential for up to 20 inches of snow in western MN.  Lovely

Alabama isn't as cold, but the weather sucks just as much.  

 

60s & 70s and clear through the work week, followed by torrential rains on Saturday, and cold on Sunday.  Fished a tournament in early March and haven't really fished since because weekends and weather won't get on the same page.

Sounds like Texas. We've had a little less rain down south but a little north of Houston has been getting flooded on the weekends. Somehow the work week is gorgeous though. The fish must've said some awfully good prayers this year ?

It's dragging on longer than usual here in WNY too.

 

As of yesterday, my home lake was still not ice free.

 

The extended forecast looks terrible. Only a few "mild" 50+ degree days.........but with 100% chance of rain. That should take care of the remaining ice. But most of the next 10 days are still projected to be high 30's/low 40's with nights below freezing. 

 

We are already past the point of "the latest I have ever gotten the boat out", and now it's just getting comical.

 

I am hoping to get it out the weekend of the 21st/22nd. But it wouldn't surprise me if this lingered into early May.

 

I have no idea what this is going to do to our "spring"/prespawn season...as I have never seen this before.

 

Usually the first weekend of May is prime time in the shallow backwater areas for largemouth, but I would be shocked if this year it's "on" at that time. Maybe I'll be lucky and by the weekend of tournament season opening (3rd Sat. in June) they will still be up there..............I will have a HUGE advantage if that happens, as I am one of the only boats that can get into one of the good spots......................hey...I'm looking for a silver lining here LOL.

Here's your silver lining - think of it as an "educational" experience.  We may have to work a bit harder to find where and when they will be feeding, spawning, etc.  Then just keep the faith... actual spring and/or summer will eventually arrive - it has to, otherwise it's just chaos. 

So its settled...We all move to Florida. I'll go there and scope out a few places to live. I figure we will need about a 3 bedroom (bunk beds and we sleep in shifts) apartment with 1 1/2 baths and an eat-in kitchen. Oh, and plenty of closet space for all the gear. Is $600 a month within our budget or should I look in the "seedier" side of town?
