Seriously, how do you like them.  One of my favorite aspects of fall is fresh apples.  I love a good apple.  I made a run to the farm and stocked up on Honey Crisp, Jonathans, Kings, Prime Reds, Jonagolds, Ambrosias and Fuji. Living in my region is apple heaven. My grandfather told me a story when I was a child regarding how hard it was to get fresh fruit and or vegetables during World War I and when he was in Belgium he found an apple on the ground that was half rotten.  He ate it.  He said it was the best apple he ever ate  I guess at my age it doesn't take much to make me happy and appreciative. 

I love apples and fresh cider. We have orchards all around us. I've never really paid attention to the different kinds, but my favorite are the sour ones the best. 

Earlier this month I went up north and ate the best tasting apples I have eaten so far. These apples came from wild apple trees by a river I was fishing.These apples where a different variety than what I see in supermarkets. Wont mind going back there next fall or find somewhere else to get these types of apples.

This is the first year in quite a few that we didn't make a trip to the apple orchard.  Gala are my kids favorites but i love granny smiths myself.  I like cider too but only if it is ice cold...it also mixes very well with fireball

I am an apple junkie too. Seriously, I eat two to four apples everyday! My favorites are Red Delicious, Gala and Golden Delicious, pretty much in that order. A coworker of my wife's brought her a huge bag full of farm fresh Goldens. I'm in apple-nirvana!

I love honeycrisp, unfortunate how expensive they are. I still eat one about every day at work. 

Honey crisp here too....about one a day.  Interesting on how they change flavor at times during the year or the batches they get in different stores.  Sometimes they are almost like drinking a glass of juice.

I eat an apple a day year round. This time of year, can't beat honeycrisp from Door County WI

Elijay Ga is great for apples this time of year.apple orchards lined up on both sides of the road for miles.fresh hot apple and peach pies, cider and boiled peanuts.Get some!

I am going to do some research and find out what type of apple I ate that I mentioned earlier. It does not look like any of the apples mentioned in this thread and would like to know what type of apple it is so I can buy some. 

Honeycrisps are in full bloom here in Minnesota (where they originally came from) and are pretty dirt cheap too right now because of a large supply.  They recently cross bred a Zestar with a Honeycrips and it produced a Sweet Tango, which I think is actually better than a Honeycrisp.  Its gonna be a while before they become widely available though, I guess some orchard has a patent on them.

I've never eaten a honeycrisp. With all the votes, I'm going to pick some up next grocery day. I'll let you know what I think. I'm still eating my free golden!

Honey Crisp is my wife's favorite. I can find them at local produce stands for 99 cents a pound right now. My favorite apple is an Ambrosia. Jonathans are second.  My least favorite is a red Delicious and a Rome Beauty.  Eat up☺️

I like all of them.  Nothing beats a chilled apple when you are out on the water in the fall.

Macintosh make outstanding pies and apple sauce.

Where are you from?  My West Virginian grandmother made fried apples for breakfast all the time but whenever I tell people in MD about they look at me like I’m some sort of lunatic.  

 

There’s a fancy-pants farmers market to my wife likes to go to and there’s an orchard in there that has the most absurd varity of apples I’ve ever seen, some of them look like a lumpy green potatoes covered in warts and I swear they’re about 1.50 to 2 bucks each.  She sold us a huge bag of assorted apples and the pies my wife made out of them were the best I have had my entire life.  Sweet and tart at the same time, some of the apples stayed solid and crisp and some cooked down into a syrup.  I guess I’m an apple-hipster now but there’s no way I’m going back to Granny Smiths. 

 

The same orchard also makes hard cider and it’s also pretty incredible, it’s made in the sour style and every sip alternates between incredible apple flavor and astringent vinegar, but in the best way possible.

I knew I was missing out.  My friends and I used to do a Sunday morning breakfast party every month or so. I would make a huge breakfast and we would listen to bluegrass and drink a little whisky.  Apples fried up a little bacon grease never failed to impress.  

My new favorite apples are Autumn Glory.  They have an almost apple pie/cinnamon taste to them.  They are extra crisp in texture and really juicy, and they seem to stay fresh for a long time before eating them.
