  • My 'goal' will most likely remain the same for the fore seeable future.  And that is to do what I can to stay healthy & physically fit enough to go fishing. The rest will take care of it

  • Spend time with dad

  • As some of you know medical issues dictated an early retirement for me, so my wife and I came up with a two part set of goals for us. Part one is complete, get a more comfortable boat. We did and coul

1.Catch a fish on drop shot

2. Improve frog fishing

3. Catch a fish in water deeper than 7 feet

My goal is to catch my first double digit bass.

Same as every year, spend more time on the water. Unfortunately, this year that DID NOT happen. I hope to remedy that next year.

1. Don't waste my time using jigs.

2. Don't waste my time using crank baits.

3. Don't waist my time using top water.

4. Don't wast my time using my baitcasters.

5. Don't wast my time using ten inch plastic worms.

6. Do stick to what works: Yum-Dingers/Stick baits.

7. Do stick to what works: Berkley PowerBaits in seven inch.

8.  Do stick to what works: lizards.

9.  Don't use any line above eight pounds.  Eight and six pound is plenty for large bass.

10. Do make lots and lots of casts to increase the odds of catching a big one.

My primary goal is to spend more time on the water, secondary goals are on the backburner until the primary goal is achieved.

1. Buy another Boat. Sold my last boat when my wife and I started our family 11 years ago.

2. Get back into tournament Fishing.

3. Catch a fish on a Crank Bait.

4. Catch a stiper on my local lake.

5. Take my daughters fishing and have them enjoy it. This will be the challenging one.

My 2019 goals

Fish with my 14 year old son and enjoy watching him embracing the joy of Bass fishing.

Fish lake Erie ( i want to catch those big smallies )

Another DD largemouth and a smallie over 7lb...

Pitch-skipping.

I can do it sidearm with a baitcaster but often seem to 'dig it in' when trying to skip while pitching.

Catch a Guadalupe and a Peacock Bass.  Pretty sure on the Peacock but not on the Guadalupe.  It's a long way to go for me.

I want to catch a Catfish over 30 pounds, a carp over 20, and a Bass over 5.

To have my new line of fishing products hit the market successfully and to catch a double digit bass, 9lb+speck.

I accomplished my bass fishing goals for 2018 and I am looking towards to what the year 2019 has to offer.

1. Fish as much as possible.

2. Change my hard head ways of only fishing in my comfort zone (use something other than your normal Texas rigs/ Small crank baits)

3. Learn how to use my Jerkbaits iv just purchased.

4. Always try and beat my PB 6.5

5. Catch some of those nice morning Top water Bass?

6. Enjoy the outdoors even if nothing is caught!

My goals.

Make some custom mods for my kayak.

Catch a DD bass!

Finesse fish....I have the baits and combos but it's just so dang boring too me.

Maybe try my luck at some Carp fishing. Sure they're nasty but my local lake has some monsters roaming the waters.

Get out on the water and just have fun!

Learn and use my boat electronics to help me catch more fish.

I caught a 23.75 inch and 20 inch largemouth bass on January 1st so I started the year 2019 good. Hope to continue to do well and to improve my bass fishing skills by the end of this year.

I'm blessed.....

Doing a bit better in the Tuesday Nighter's with my son.

More time on water with grand kids (fingers crossed)

Less time in Doc's office

To make it through the season without breaking a rod. Been on a bad stretch of about 4 years breaking at least 1.

Same as they are every year:

Don't sink the boat

Don't catch the boat on fire

Don't blow up the motor

Don't break anything that costs a lot to fix and/or repair

Don't fall off the boat

The fishing takes care of itself.

Well throw my goals in the trash.  I watched KVD on Pro Team Journal Friday night.  Watched him throw a jerk bait thru the whole episode.  I never caught a bass on a jerk bait and hardly ever use them.  But what did I do Saturday?  Had to go to the store to buy me a KVD jerk bait in clear water minnow.  Ugh.
