I forget to get any measurements on this bass. I know it's really hard to guess weight purely through picture, but does anyone have a guess?

Welcome to Bass Resource!

Id guess a healthy 4lbs! Tell us more about your catch, what did you catch em on?

Nice healthy looking bass. I'm going to guess its pushing  5 lbs.

Welcome to the forum. It appears to be a nice sized northern strain largemouth bass. Hard to give you a exact estimate since you did not give length and girth measurements of this bass. Next time measure the length and girth to get a close estimate by using the following formula; Length X Length X Girth / 1200 = estimated weight of bass in pounds.

For example 20 length X 20 length X 15 girth / 1200=5 pounds estimated weight

If this is too much work then I suggest you buy a good scale to easily weigh your fish.

1.97 Kg. Oh, that's why ya'll so reluctant to accept the metric system,... :)

I would say 4 - 5 lbs. Nice fish. ?

Nice fish. One trick is cut 2 pieces of fishing line for length and girth and use formula @soflabasser gave you. I'd guess #4.5-5.25

Around 5lbs. It's not even close to being in the 3s.

nice fish young man , keeper for sure! hard to say, but I would take her any day

Welcome to the forum.  Nice fish.  My thinking on estimating the size of a fish it that it's unfair to the fish to underestimate it's weight so I always try to error on the high side.

So lets just call it an 8 pounder  ?

Caught this fish pausing a whopper plopper right above a grass flat. And thanks for all the input!

Not quite Hawg status!

Nice bass for your region. Impossible to guesstimate the length from the photo, poor angle.

Its a lot easier to judge the weight on this photo than  a lot of others . Hes not long-arming  the fish .

I agree.  Guessing that Aiden is near 13 years old & probably a little over 5 feet tall, his hands make that look like a solid 5 lb fish.  The belly isn't huge (on the fish, not Aiden), but it isn't skinny either and the length pushes the weight well above the 3 lb range.  I think he can call it a 5lber even and not be accused of telling a fish story.

I am actually about 6 ft in this picture. Hopefully that makes it a good 5? thanks for the input!

Tall with a young face, that combination will do you well over the rest of your life.

Knowing you are even taller than I thought just makes the fish bigger, so it is a no doubt 5 lb in my opinion.  Congratulations again.

If you are 6ft I'd say a solid 5lbs for sure. Nice fish!

Nice Fish, I would wage a guess between 4 - 5 lbs, probably on the heavier side.
