I know the Pointers and Sammys were all the rage a few years ago, but I'm not seeing LC being on anyone's talk about list.

 

Have they died in popularity to newer, more expensive lures?

I still use Pointers, Staysees, and Slender Pointers a lot. I haven't been a big fan of any of their other hard baits though. They work, but not so great to justify the premium price to me. They discontinued a lot of popular baits too it seems like in their squarebill lineup. I do have a 2.0 in their Bull Bream color that is one of my favorite squarebills.

I think there is truth to this.  I scored a bunch of Sammys, Gunfish, and Pointers off a discount rack early this year. 

I only use the Sammy's and Pointers. 

I think they really upped the game of other crankbait manufacturers which have in turned increased competition and options in the market

Pointers, Staysee, Gunfish, Sammy, LV 500 and the LC Silent Squarebill are still high on the rotation. From what I remember, Lucky Craft was the first premium Japanese lure company to break ground in North America. Megabass, Jackall, Evergreen and others followed and have taken a big market share from Lucky Craft. 

Still my overall go to brand of hardbaits.

They are my go to brand of hardbaits also. I own and use more Lucky Craft than anything else.

LC makes a quality bait.

LC 1.5 silents are solid producers for me still 

I still like their baits.  Sammy, gun fish, lc silent, pointers and staycees

Just like everything else in bass fishing, people want something newer. The plugs still work I’m sure, I’ll never buy a lure over $10 so I’ll never know first hand

I still use them, most of my hard baits are either LC or Xcalibur.

 I have bought a few of the one knocker square bill cranks to try out .

This guy and some of his friends still like them. 

Around these parts everyone and their brother uses mostly Strike King and Rapala stuff. In my circle of friends/tournament partners, I'm the only one who uses Lucky Craft and Spro hard baits  (the frogs are popular). Suits me fine. 

It did seem like certain colors of pointer minnows weren't as easy to come by a few years ago as they are now.  That could be due to LC producing more of the popular colors.  Just like anything else popularity of baits can run in cycles.  Personally I consistently use the LC silent and DRS more then other any bait from LC.  I did read a few reviews saying that the newer LC silents have been having issues.  Supposedly they start to rattle if they take a decent impact. Some people think that they are just taking rattling crankbaits and gluing the bbs to the inside of the bait to make them silent.  Has anyone here had issues with new LC silent crankbaits doing the same thing?

I think when you start talking quality baits with proven long term success Lucky Craft definitely has a seat at the table.
