Walmart sells a small pair of scissors in the fishing section with the Rapala brand on them meant for cutting super lines, I believe. These things are the best line cutters made since braid was invented! Am I coming late to the party or are they the best kept secret I've seen in a long time? They are 3 or 4 dollars each, I think I've bought 10 pair now. I've given away 4 or 5 and I have a pair in every box I own and my trout vest. They have finely serrated blades that grip and cut whatever it is, braid, mono, flouro, plastic, cloth, feathers etc. Just wondering why I never heard of them until I tried one?

They are good until you start cutting packages open with them...I did that, and dulled up a pair real quick. I like the rapala clippy thing. They looked like little jaws. 

 

The Ozark trail fillet knives for $1.97 or something like that are phenomenal too as long as you keep em sharp of course! I have 5 of them I use for my deer harvesting!

They work great for a year or so. With their price, it makes them a good deal. I have 2 years on my Cuda's (about the same size, $1 more).

I dont fish every weekend so they probably last me a lot longer.

Check the sewing section.  That is where I get mine.

I thought the Berkley's were good as well, and they are. But then I bought a pair of Cuda's. No comparison, the Cuda's are hands down better.

I had a pair of cudas and the scissors broke at the finger hole. The metal broke out of the clear plastic part. I couldn't fix it. Didn't even get to use it more than a few times. 

I was highly disappointed. Thought about contacting the company because it was suppose to have a lifetime warranty but never did. 

Now i just use the cheap rapala scissors from Walmart.

I just use the retractable razor blades you get for free or for a few cents at Harbor freight

I'm not calling you a liar, but there is literally no way they just "broke" out of the plastic with normal use. 

Its surprised me too. I always thought Cudas were a quality brand.

I guess anything can break.

I understand. My daughter can break a plastic spoon trying to eat ice cream.

Stop in the home goods and get a pair of kitchen shears for like $.87 instead. Mine are probably 3 years old and they cut any kind of line, packaging, bait, whatever I need, and when I break them or drop then in the water, I buy a new pair ?‍♂️

Someone here posted up a while back about the Fiskars kids scissors. I bought a pair and they work great. A few weeks back there were 10 of them in the clearance section at Walmart for .50 each. I bought them all. I should be good for a few seasons!

Probably me, those are my favorites if I can find them. I have a pair in the boat, kayak crate, and go bag.

I always have a few pair of the cheap Rapala ones on me. The dental floss cutters are as cheap as you can get. Just quit flossing and problem solved! ?

Hell, a BIC lighter works too.

 

But I'm sure there are even cheaper options. Sorry I went with the big baller BIC. At least I didn't recommend the JDM Zippo.

The BPS red ones are amazing for the price if you can find any in store. I have one for a year now and it has lasted me the longest. Also the scissor handle can be pushed in if that matters. Had the boomerang snippers and they were great but last me about half a season only. Worst one I used was the Gamakatsu foldable ones. I like how it came with a split ring but the cutting was crap. Couldn't cut braid at all. 

Sorry guys, I wrote they were Berkley branded. NOPE. They are Rapala branded. I changed it in my OP. Anyway, get some. Another thing I like about them is the fit my big fat fingers well. Can't say that for a lot of craft dept scissors.

I have a pair of the kastking scissors that actually work fantastic. 

 

But 99/100 times I'm using my boomerrang cutters. Clipped to my pants or bibs so they never get lost. These things are the best.

I've got a couple pair of Fiskars (1-5" and 1-4") that I've been using for years at the bench...they've handled everything so far and are still razor sharp - you get what you pay for with scissors FAIC.

Ya, Boomerrang cutters on a retractable holder clipped to my PFD in the canoe. I replaced the built in, cheap retractor rig with a heavy duty 'badge clip'...a little work and it's MUCH better.

Local fleet farm has these.... they have a loose bin of them for  $5 each...  or you can really splurge and get the EXACT SAME SCISSORS for $14.99 in the plastic shell.. ?‍♂️
