Songs you never get tired of...

That's really cool.  They went through quite the grind before they became well known.  I love their first 3 albums.  After that, eh, not so much.

Being in bands that have released multiple recordings, I can tell you that after around 30 or so songs, it becomes extremely difficult to write something new and compelling that you all enjoy playing.  It's like you have to start to reinvent yourself, or come up with some other trick to finding new patterns of playing within the group.  After that many songs, you've settled into a point where you intuitively know what the others will do, even in an improvisation.  Part of the charm of many bands' "first album" is capturing that discovery phase.  Nothing is predictable.  Props to bands that last more than 5 years.  It's very difficult to produce songs, let alone get along, lol.

This, I know.  I was in a metal band for 10 years and we played with a quite a few national acts.  It's a feat in itself to keep a group together long enough to make one good album, let alone 3 or 4.

In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins.

Oh man. I can’t change the channel fast enough when Phil Collins hits the airways. A lot of it stems from the orthodontist always have it set to the soft rock station and “in the air tonight” played every single time someone was torquing a wrench in my mouth as a child

Two cinematic references to “in the air tonight” you might enjoy

I can do this all day.

To stay on topic, I'll add Superstition by Mr. Wonder to my list. Look up his performance on Sesame Street if you want to see him and his band on fire performing it live.

Yeah, me too, rocking band live. Saw them with the original Molly Hatchet... Great show!

I can listen to all things Whiskey Myers, they're great. Their song "Reckoning" is really good. Hopefully we'll be going to see them in September when they come to El Dorado, AR

Edit; My wife got us two "premium seating" tickets. Not 100% sure what that is, but we get our own personal bartender!

I'd Love to Lay you Down - Conway Twitty (anything he does)

Bop - Dan Seals

Sold (The Grundy County Auction) - John Michael Montgomery

We Built This City - Starship

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor

(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher - Jackie Wilson

Viva Las Vegas - Elvis Presley

We Will Rock You = Queen

Yup it is eclectic and that is only a small sample LOL

Merle Haggard - The Way I Am

Cody Jinks - Alone

Whiskey Myers - Bad Weather

The Steel Woods - Blind Lover

Samantha Fish - Lay It Down

Steve Miller Band - The Joker

There are a ton more, but those were the first ones that came to mind.
