Big Bass Oregon

New to this forum. Did some awesome largemouth bass fishing this summer as well as smallmouth, bluegill, perch, catfish (channel and bullhead), crappie and some pike minnow. Really strayed away from stocker trouts for a couple reasons. But it was a very good summer! Today especially ! I got my personal best largemouth today at just over 8lbs!

An 8lb fish if caught in Oregon is very likely a lake record, they don't often get that big out here, would be great to see a picture!

Very irritated with this site right yes. Yes I am on my Phone and yes I have been attempting to make my picture files somehow smaller but nothing meets these very low requirements. And to your lake record thing. I am not sure, it was on a farm pond and I sware I had hooked into an even bigger one the day before, but I guess I will never know. Just got access to fish it and I have a combined time of 2 hours on the pond.

On my Galaxy, I usually have to shrink it to 20% original size...my phone shoots at 3000x4000...so I drop it to 600x800 and that's usually the ticket.

No replies or comments? And to answer your question fellow Oregonian I have tons of spots. Some I had to get permission and some was just by doing lots of on foot travel as al my catches are from bank. Elk rock island is a great place to start though. I’ve caught 11 species of fish there including largemouth and smallmouth.

I upload mine to imgbb.com, use the direct links option, paste the link, simple as that.

Thanks guys and I was throwing a 5” yum green pumpkin weightless senko but on this particular cast the senko skipped a few times and then as soon as it started to sway this fella hurled itself out of the water completely and destroyed it. My heart was racing for a good 30minutes and this was probably my most enjoyable fishing moment ever. Even better than catching giant sturgeon.

I use a program called lit photo to compress my photos, it's an extra step perhaps but it gets the job done, if you enjoy seeing fish eating skipped senko's, this time of year is fantastic for frogs, poppers and walking baits, personally I would rather catch fish on a topwater offering all day than any other technique...gets you fish like this guy

Shimmy I am using a 50lb rapala digital scale and the length of this fish was just over 24inches and as you vas see the girth

I used to run a "guess the weight" contest of my own pics - first one without the scale, 2nd one with....

You'd be amazed how far off the guesses were.  I mean, WAY off.  Like not even in the same city, let alone ball park!  Sometimes over, other times under.  I just depended on the pic.  And these people were trying to win baits and tackle, so they were putting forth their best effort. But it was always a very small % of people would actually guess correctly +/- 4 oz...a very small %.

Lesson learned: most people cannot judge the weight of a fish by its pic.  So give the guy a break.
