These are both good rivers, the Susky is the best I've fished probably ever. Up north there are lots of good smallie rivers, gotta do your homework and spend some time on the water.

If you are from Missouri there's no secret to where the best smallmouth rivers are.

Yes I live in Saint louis. Love the northern states though lol

The St. Lawrence is quite possibly the best smallmouth river in the world.

Do a quick google search you are very close to some great water.

How about the mighty Mississippi?  Up here in the headwaters its still a relatively clean, shallow, rocky kinda river where brown bass thrive (as opposed to the dredged, polluted, murky river that we're used to further south).  Much of it in midsummer is only accessible with a small craft like a canoe, kayak, drift boat, or jon boat.

It's a funny thing. I've only ever fished the Larry like three times. Every single time the Chaumont (SHAH-moh) bay calls, so we run there and I have the time of my life. It's a bay, not a river.

 

The Niagara should get special mention. It's also a special place.

He doesn’t want to go right now I don’t think. My river waters are wrecked right now. Mean and nasty for quite awhile here in the N.E. From the latest hurricane. 

If you just specifically mean the Midwest, the Missouri River is excellent I believe (not that ive fished it but my buddy did)

Oh Yeah. The upper Sipp is one of my favorites for sure. ive heard its been at record low levels throughout the summer so i think less people have been able to fish it this summer. Might be good for the fish lol. Thanks for the response
