Since most of my fishing trips are two to three hours, I never carry any extra line spools anymore.                                                  I make sure my reels are filled before the trip, and I've never needed to respool my reels while I'm on the water.                              If I were fishing for a much longer time, I'd probably carry a spool, or if I were travelling to a new lake, or out of town of course I'd pack extra line. But, for trips close to home, I never do.                Do you carry extra spools of line as part of your tackle?

Just those that I use for leaders on my braid reels - when I use a leader. Otherwise, no.

I have eight combos in the rod locker and four or five on deck. If one runs out of line i have another one ready to go.

I always have one line storage  mostly fluorocarbons that I use for leaders about four or five spools with me from 6lb test to 17lb test. and two braided spool 30lb and 40lb with me.

I carry WAY too much, so I'm no help. LOL

Probably 2,000 yards of braid and 1,800 yards or so of fluoro in different lb test.

When I go one multiple day trips, I always have extra line.

I keep 3 spools of floro, and 2 spools of copoly.  The floro is for leaders, and the copoly is just in case I need to respool. I didn't use copoly on any of my setups (mono, floro, and braid) but I figure its a good middle ground if I need to respool a mono or floro reel. If big game came in smaller spools I would probably keep that instead of the copoly.

For just a day trip I'll carry an extra reel

I keep several spinning reel spools in in the boat filled with different kinds and sizes of line so if the situation calls for a change I can quickly do it.  I also carry some extra fluorocarbon for bait casters.  That’s why boats have storage boxes.

I am a 4# test person. Until a over sized pike takes over a dock and ruins C & R  for the kids & seniors. I do have heavy gear & big barbless hooks for them. I tow them quickly to a distant baitfish area and release. A night catch & release works best on the pike.

I keep some line in the boat to use when I need to make leader setup. I keep two extra reels in different gear ratios in the boat. If I have a problem with a reel I can swap them out and keep fishing.

Used to carry extra spools for my spinning reels, back I used mono. Now,  the only time I carry extra line when I am on a road trip.

I carry 3-4 spools for my various leaders

Yeah I carry extra line with me every time I go out. Just always a habit i've had

No.  Like Phil, I carry extra rods for local fishing.  Like Catt, I carry extra reels when visiting relation in Florida.  I do have a few extra spools, but I've never taken one with me yet.  Normally the extra spools are set up for different rods.  Like a Pixy or two...one spooled with line for 'normal' use and one spooled with light line for lighter than normal lures (lighter lures for me).

I carry extra spools like @A-Jay.  Not as many as he does but I'm working on it.  :)

Light line? Yep (both Daiwa Fuego spinning and Shimano NASCI). Heavier line, like 12 lb. test and up? Nope.             jj

I often just fish with one or two setups so I always bring extra line and usually a backup rod/reel so if I have problems my day isn’t ruined

The only time I bring extra line is when I'm on a trip out of town.

With a kayak, you're limited to about 3 rigged rods and reels.

My bow hold has 3-pc spinning, 3-pc bait, and 3-pc fly, back-up or opportunity.

My lap hatch has a pelican with back-up bait reel and back-up spinning spool
