Firetiger spinnerbait for largemouth

Featured Replies

has anyone ever tried a firetiger spinnerbait for largemouth, if so what are your thoughts?

Nope.

No sir.

You are the Thomas Edison of bass fishing.

I don't fish spinnerbaits often but the last time I did it was a War Eagle 5/16 finesse with a fire tiger skirt. Worked just fine in lightly stained water. I still believe that color selection gets too much thought.

Well thank you sir! If you work hard I promise you can also do great things

Personally, I put firetiger in the same general category as chartreuse, yellow, etc.  For largemouth, I typically consider that category in less than ideal visibility.  It can be be effective in cleaner water, especially when fish are in a positive mood, but I usually opt for another presentation.  I would also probably be using a Colorado or Indiana blade with that category…but that’s just me.

Nichols made a Pulsator Tilapia and Fire Tiger spinnerbaits for Mexican lakes El Salto and Baccarat that worked great.

The only time a fire tiger pattern worked for me was while I was winter bassin. I caught a cold.

Fire tiger just does not work for me.

I have never used a fire tiger spinner bait.

Have used it in crank baits and topwater lures with some success.  Fire tiger pattern seems to really attract a lot of pike though.

I've never had luck with firetiger anything...bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits. Now solid chartreuse on the other hand...

I don't think I have ever fished with a firetiger spinnerbait. I tend to stick with white, and chartreuse / white.

Never used one but no doubt they would work . I would try them early in the year while bass are still stupid and the water is muddy .

I used to use firetiger hardbaits in the local hydro lake with good success. I always assumed it was an imitation of yellow perch. But now I usually fish a place where they don't work so well. I think the only baits in firetiger I get bites on are topwaters. And fish can't see at least half the bait on topwaters. Coincidentally, there are no yellow perch here. But there are gold shiners and they love gold metallic patterns.

Caught a few in a firetiger skirt spinnerbait. Works well in dirty water. My confidence color is still white/chartruesse though.

I had a really good spring 12-13 years ago on a Firetiger spinnerbait in a muddy river. Since then, poopie.

We have a lot of yellow perch and blue gill in my local lakes, this is a killer color for me on spinner baits and some other hard baits. I use it exclusively for those lakes and save the white for the tidal rivers I fish. Match the hatch if you will, best of luck!!
