Plano boxes only......... or bust????

Featured Replies

so, i'm all plano, and it is a huge plano world. i just looked briefly online at kastking --- their price for their 3600 size seems...... exactly the same as plano. if so, i can't see why i'd consider another brand.....

so i'm figuring i'll stick to plano, cause then you can swap parts, dividers, etc etc.... and they just seem so reliable. and, i guess there's nothing else that's as good? or is there..... i'm liking the 3700's for big, 3600's for smaller than big, and i've got some smaller ones, which are also nice.

or do people just get whatever is on sale, mix and match,  and call it a day?

Plano Edge 3600

Gamakatsu 3600

Bass Mafia 3600

Plano Anti Rust 3600

I use all of them for different baits.  Mix it up for your needs.

90% of the boxes are made by Plano anyway with a different name on them

SPRO boxes are top notch and cost effective.

How many dividers and number of compartments?

i'll go ahead and order a couple more plano 3700's , cause i need 'em now.

just wondering about lower cost alternatives... the spro seem a lot harder to find, altho TW carries them.  next time i'm at one of the big shops --- like bps, i'll look at their in house brands to see their pricing and quality... most of the  brands available online seem priced similar to plano, so i guess i'll think of just sticking with that...

 Plano exclusively for me.

I buy what Bass Pro sells during the Spring Classic.  I buy at least 10 at a time.  They are pvc mostly what ever the brand.

Plano, Flambeau, all the same for hard bait storage to me. Never really gave it any thought. As long as my old ladies label maker works all is good.

But to your point. You make a good point.

These have me intrigued.  Looks similar to the Gamakatsu boxes.

Probably sounds weird, but Plano for the boat. In the shop where I keep the extra stuff is a hodgepodge of what ever.

sounds totally reasonable... maybe your boat needs to be organized better, hence more uniformity??? just a thought. then you can save money in da man cave with a hodge podge... if you had all plano in your hodge podge,............maybe that would be obsessive???

lol......depends on what guys prefer...

The BPS branded 3700 size boxes have a bigger interior dimension than any other box I've ever seen, while still being the same 3700 size footprint (IE, still fits in slots/trays/whatever that a Plano 3700 would).  This is important to me because I like to cram as many baits in a single box as I can, and it nets anywhere from a couple to several extra baits per box when compared to others.

Add to that, they have more divider slots so more customization. It's what I used for a terminal box before I modded a 3701 by putting in more dividers with a soldering iron to secure them.
