All the more reason to shop Digitaka instead of a US store.

Until they take that away.  "Sorry per our arrangement with shimano we can no longer sell to overseas customers".

Surprised that hasn’t happened yet.

Increase price, increase plastic usage and decrease build quality.

Shimano trifecta.

Saw that today as well. Do you know what models will be affected?

Where did you see this information?

Not that I want to see them prices go up, but to be fair, tackle prices have been pretty much the same level as everything else almost doubled the price in this inflation.

I saw this in an email from Tackle Direct. Not sure if you’re supposed to assume the increase will affect pretty much everything…

I think it effects everything from Japan. There was a notice at work about specific electronic components going up in price starting January 9th due shipping and an increase in the Yen.  This was the reason I ordered two rods and two reels before the New Year.

It may seem that way, but it's not nearly that bad...

everything is up.  not sure why we think Shimano is immune to it.

at least Shimano is a lot more fun than the dozen eggs I just bought for $8.  :D

To quote the TD website: "Many of your favorite Shimano products will be facing a price increase on 2/1/23. Buy now and save!"

How does a product 'face' a price increase?

Their retail partners and customers will be the ones 'facing' the increase.

Does product already on the shelf (paid for by retailers at the pre-increase price) increase in price on 2/1/23 too? Asking for Bait Monkey even though BM probably already knows it will.

I bought some of those eggs at Target over the weekend. They were $3.89. What crazy place is selling them for $8.12?

And I thought my egg purchase last week was expensive at $3.59

I’ve seen them anywhere from $4.49 to $5.49 for a dozen here the past 2 months.

I can remember them being as low as 99 cents before the pandemic. There are many factors driving up the cost of eggs. Diesel/transport costs, the avian flu, and the price of chicken feed is outrageous primarily because the price of raw ingredients like soybean meal and corn is still very high.

As for Shimano…they make nice reels. Glad I don’t need to buy any at this time.

Around here a dozen eggs is $5 and up as of yesterday. They went up a dollar in the past week.

Just got back from my local Wally World; eggs are $6.71, which used to be around $3.50 a year ago.  It must be some fancy hens.

Anyway, I wonder why we are talking about egg prices in a fishing forum.

It's less depressing than talking about the cost of fishing gear. ?
