Feedback suggested concerning advice offered

Featured Replies

I have not been here very long, but I have seen posts where someone requests advice on any number of fishing topics, but I have not yet seen a followup by whomever sought the advice if that advice worked or not. It would be nice to know. Just sayin'.

It would be nice to know how things worked out, and it is appreciated when it does happen. But it's not unusual forum behavior. Once a problem has been solved, most just move on to their next dilemma.

Some people do use the solution button. I do agree it is nice saying oh yes that worked. Or I took you advice but, tweaked it this way. Either way I do love reading comments to see other peoples view of that topic.

I think it's more suggestive, if anything or, better yet, a kinda stepping stone for some. I mean, what works for someone may not work for someone else because of the many, many variables. Probably the reason why not so many follow up with positive feedback....or negative feedback from advice given on this site.

When you make a post, BR would like you to pick a response as " solved by". That's your follow-up response.

ive caught 2 fish on a jig despite having 2 tied on at all times. A jig is what a spinnerbait is to you.

The struggle is real. Solid black is a good color for jigs, I like 1/4 oz bitsy bug

Feedback happens in different ways.

Negative is almost always a  written reply.

Positive comes in several forms, the like button lower right corner, a solution flagged and PM’s.

All kinds of feedback is good as long as it’s not a personal attack.?

Haha I'll follow up. But I've been throwing a bitsy bug in pumpkin with a baby rage bug/versa craw/zcraw and had no takers yet.

hahahaa..

i try and come full circle to thank the ones that give me advice.

I disagree.  I think most people here, or at least the "long-timers", are very, very good at showing appreciation and giving feedback.  Many times I'll start a thread and end the question with "thanks in advance" because I'm going to get a huge number of answers and:

1.  I appreciate all of them even if it's not something I'm going to adopt.

2.  Most times there is not a single "right" answer, but rather a significant number of good points or ideas.

Plus, I can now show my appreciation with the click of my mouse!  Which was brilliant, @Glenn.  Thank you!  You are right that some people just post and forget it, but not the regulars.  We're family.

You said you haven't been on long.  Stick around.  You will find that this is, by far, one of the most genial forums on the internet.  People here truly like each other and the interaction very well-moderated.

I agree ^ I've always wondered how many people actually bought a Lews based off the "best reel" threads.
