My paid for setup. I've since added a Ultrex 80, which I love, and a Helix 7, that I'm still figuring out!

just got my first one. tracker super glide v1420180915_1249421.thumb.jpg.45e56f250cd9d63399d1b7bdb7dc3cd7.jpglooking forward to getting familiar with it and taking my son out with me fishing.

Mine for now is an all electric Lowe 1040 perfect to slip into my truck bed and hand launch to get at those LMB that have never (or rarely) seen a lure. I've equipped it with most of the necessities, bilge pump, rod holders, running lights, horn, interior lighting, flood light, bait bucket and cooling fan (It gets hot here) outlets, GPS, USB outlets, and fish finder all run by a self made dashboard.

I'm curious what lead to the repower just a couple years in?

@punch

The 2016 Optimax Two Stroke was running great.  It had 125 hours on it, a full year left on the all inclusive factory warranty and looked brand new.  While still having an almost a cult following, the big two strokes Mercs are No Longer made and are pretty much bullet proof.

  With the warranty expiring next year, and after finding out what Mercury wanted $$$ for a 3-5 year extended warranty, I started looking for another plan.

  Then came the release of the new V-8 ProXS 4 stroke.   Mercury was offering this new motor in a 25 inch shaft option which is what I needed (not offered in the 2-stroke version) and the unit was by & large plug & play with my existing motor.  Meaning I could use all my existing wiring, steering system, gauges & controls.  Seemed right and the timing couldn't have been better.

Called my dealer and we 'ran the numbers'.

In the end, the funds I expended on this new motor (after the dealer trade in) were close to what I would have needed to spend on an 'extended warranty' for a three year old motor.

 Instead, I got a brand new V-8 4 stroke 200 hp unit that weighs the same as the two stroke AND with a full Five Year factory warranty.

This was an easy decision.

That motor sure looks different than the norm doesn't it.  Oddly shaped compared to the traditional "round" ones we're used to seeing.

First year with the new boat.  I loved every minute of it. I was able to spend a lot of time fishing, but when the whole family was together, plenty of room for everyone.

NICE! I owned a couple Alumacrafts, and LOVED them both! A new 1992 Phantom V170, and I sold my 2011 Competitor 175CS last spring. That 2XB hull is awesome!

I upgraded to the NuCanoe Frontier 12 this year.

1984 Stratos 345SV. First year ever made. Paired with a 1985 Evinrude 50hp. And this thing is in immaculate shape! Garage kept it’s entire life. Have since put a Minn Kota Edge 45 and Garmin 7sv Graph. Let me know if anyone you know has seen or ever had this model, seem kinda rare that I can’t find another one to relate to!
