Time For Some New Pants

I've been following along with A-Jays ongoing thread on working to stay lean for quite a while now.                           In a past post, I told about my pre type 2 diabetes diagnosis six months ago.             My weight has never been a huge problem for me. I'm 6'1 and was at 190. Over time, my weight went up to 235. Of course the weight was in the wrong places.               When I weighed myself this morning I weighed 206.           Basically, I cut back on all sugars and sweets, and also my portion sizes. I've realized I can eat far less, and still feel full, because of my shrinking stomach. My target goal is 190, and, I'm sure I can get there.                       My A1C level came in at 6.1, which is very good. I don't have a weight room to exercise like A-Jay. But I'm doing regular sit ups and leg lifts to tighten up my gut. Also, walking more, which, my favourite type of walking is walking around the lake and bank fishing. It's good exercise.                                           It's a weird thing when you lose weight. The weight comes off your whole body, as well as your stomach. An example, my wedding ring now slides on and off my finger easily. It didn't do this before. I feel much lighter on my feet, and, I feel I'm moving a little quicker now.           If you need to lose weight, this plan may work for you. And, lastly, I'd like to thank A-Jay for his thread. It's inspiring, and has helped me reach my goals. If I can do it, anyone can.

Congratulations @Mobasser

My doctor told me to get my blood work under control or more meds.

It’s mostly my sugar and few others.
You give me hope, I just started mine about a week ago.

Get that ring resized! I temporarily lost mine (that was my late fathers wedding ring) in the platte river , luckily Michigan has gin clear water and I found it. I immediately put it in safe keeping and got it resized once we returned home.

keep up the good work !

I need to lose some weight but I can't get motivated to get in to an exercise routine. I try to stay up and active but I am 72 so I am not going to worry about it now. Glad it is working for you and hope you make your target goal.

Kudos to you. :respect-040:

I dropped 50lbs around 4 years ago and I've been able to maintain it, for the most part. Went down 4" on my jeans size. Amazing how much healthier one feels after losing that kind of weight.

We went lake bank fishing yesterday for crappie and yes we caught our limit just sitting in our chairs never having to move all day.

All was great especially in the afternoon when they stopped biting i went for a 45 minute walk up the steep winding road along the lake and came back and sat in my chair and started fishin again. Instead of snacking on graham crackers i snacked on plain saltine crackers.

I am getting away from alot of free weights training and do alot more stretching and yoga stuff. I am really strengthing my core doing birddogs, side planks, russian twists, dead lifts, squats , leg scissors, clams, bridges.

One of the first things i do for a morning stretch is i hang by my hands with my feet off the ground for a couple minutes. Then i really stretch out the hips and my glutes doing 5 different stretches. The best thing is none of this needs any gym equipment.

A-Jay, thought I might mention I weighed myself this morning at 203. The weight is coming right off, and I feel better with every pound I lose. My doctor appointment is next Friday morning, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure the doc will be pleased.

Consistency @Mobasser! Keep it up.

Loosing weight is one thing but making the lifestyle changes like you have and sticking to it is what's really going to lead to your long term success. Having gone through something similar recently it isn't easy and I give you a lot of credit.

It's amazing how just eating better food makes you feel isnt it? Then loosing pretty much the equivalency of a weight training vest must feel phenomenal.

Really man, good for you and congrats.

That’s awesome. Cutting out the sugar isn’t as easy as one might think. Seems like everything pre-packaged has corn syrup in there somewhere. Up up and away Mobasser.

Only the manufacturers know what gets put into our food, read the labels and i have to google the names of ingrediants. The parmasean cheese i buy has ground up wood pulp, its becoming more pulp than cheese, i can make a 2x4 out of my turds.
