I drove to my favorite little Plymouth kettle and checked off January ...

Not a giant, but a pretty healthy 1 1/2 pounds.

Come south to the Cape ... 😉

I got one yesterday but he’s in the cooler on ice along with brother and a solo crappie. Not sure you want a picture of them in storage. Just good eater size.   Happy New Year’s!!

No fish, but went fishing with the boy new years day!

Technically the 3rd of the day / year but the first one worth taking a picture of...got all 4 of them today on a tequila sunrise roboworm.

It's going to be 1-1/2 to 2 months before I even think about going out.  Me and cold don't mix.

I'm still waiting on mine. Had three bites the other day but couldn't connect. First swipes on a jerkbait of the season. Tomorrow it's a high of 37 with wind chills between 6 and 16. I'll be hitting the rocks with some cautious optimism because it's supposed to be sunny. I have a lineup of jerkbaits to throw. And the dang jig

Although we go to the “hot” side of lake Anna in the winter, it looks like my first bass of 2025 is going to come from Florida at the end of the month into the first week of February.  I ain’t complaining either. 😂

@pdxfisher: Way to go, western buddy! Big one!!!

Finally. Got on the board three weeks earlier than last year. Green pumpkin jig, sunny 48f with north winds to 30mph. Third cast. Now I'm going home for coffee because I did not bring the appropriate gloves

May 12 (hopefully) for me - I don't fish the weekends.

If anyone is thinking of posting a rock bass in this thread…DON’T.

Ya - Rock Bass are a Sunfish, not a Black Bass...their closest relatives are Bluegill, so they don't belong in the 'Bass' threads but in 'Other Species'.
